A barbecue or other catering?

Next to a hog roast, a barbecue offers more variety, which helps when some guests do not eat pork. A hog roast is the bigger spectacle, so for bigger events, why not both?. Compare like for like: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Why Egypt hosts choose us

  • Meat-free choices on every menu
  • Sides to make it a full meal

Common questions in Egypt

Is Egypt too small for a barbecue?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Which station is closest to Egypt?

Burnham station, about 2.9 miles south-west of the centre.

Is crockery included?

Plates are included. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

How soon do barbecue dates go?

Once your date is fixed, especially for June to September. Short notice is still worth a try: use our quote form.

How do you handle food safety?

That’s one of the best reasons to have it catered: separate equipment for raw and cooked food, and everything cooked through.

Do you cover Egypt?

We do. Tell us the venue or postcode and we will confirm availability.

Will children like the BBQ?

Yes, generally: burgers and sausages in a roll are easy for small hands. Tell us how many children to expect.

Is BBQ catering only for summer?

The grill cooks under cover, so it works all year. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.

For event organisers in Egypt

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We’ll keep you both updated.

If you’re a venue or event planner, we are happy to work alongside your team, sharing timings and a site plan.

What BBQ catering costs

Each booking is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Travel to Egypt
  • Season and day of the week
  • How many people are eating

What you choose to eat matters most: burgers and sausages cost less than brisket and ribs, so we list each item in the quote. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

What we need to know

Here’s what we’ll ask:

  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Rough numbers
  • Any venue rules
  • Allergies we should know about

Every event is quoted on its own, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Ask us for a quote for your event: send us your details through our quote form.

A catered BBQ in Egypt: what to know

Egypt is about 3 miles north of Slough, in Slough. Egypt is well within our area for events. We cover 31 places across Slough. Our bookings stretch from Egypt to Reading (about 17 miles away).

If the day starts at a church like St John the Evangelist, the barbecue can be ready at a hall or garden close by. Nearby historic houses include Cliveden (3 miles west) and Dorney Court (4.6 miles south-west). Estates like these tend to set strict rules for caterers, so check before booking.

For events in SL2, we just need to know where the barbecue can cook. Your event could be at a house on Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue, as long as there’s somewhere outside to cook. If your venue is just outside Egypt, we also cover Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). We also serve nearby towns such as Slough (3 miles south), Cippenham (3 miles south), Chalvey (4 miles south), Langley (5 miles south-east), Upton (4 miles south) and Burnham (3 miles south-west).

A little further out are Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). The countryside around Egypt includes Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.

  • Schools near Egypt include Caldicott School (0.8 miles south) and Beechwood School (1.9 miles south)
  • Local pubs include The Royal Oak pub (less than half a mile south-east)

Before you choose a spot

The cooking area is the main thing to plan. A quick checklist:

  • A step-free route to wheel the equipment in
  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • A level spot in the garden, on the patio or drive

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Looking after everyone

A little planning helps everyone eat safely. Here are a few tips:

  • Let us know roughly how many children are coming
  • Mention any guests who avoid beef
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Think about who does not eat pork or beef when choosing the meats

Our chef cooks through the agreed service time, while our staff serve and keep things flowing.

Add coleslaw, salads and jacket potatoes for a full meal.

What happens on the day

A barbecue is cooked as people eat, so we time our arrival around your serving time. It means food comes off the grill hot. Sunset in Egypt is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, so an early-evening barbecue is typically in daylight.

  1. Send us the date, the place and roughly how many.
  2. Choose your meats and sides.
  3. We confirm the cooking spot and send a quote.
  4. We cook on site and serve at the agreed time.
  5. We clear up and go.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about tight access
  • Tell us roughly how many children are coming
  • Send final numbers in good time
