Hog roast hire, slow-roasted on site

Hog roast hire means a whole pig roasted slowly on site, outdoors under cover, over several hours. When it’s ready, our chef carves it in front of your guests and our staff serve it in soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and a piece of crackling. It feeds a crowd with very little fuss, and the smell alone gets people queuing.

You can add spit-roast lamb or rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage, plus salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes. Plates come as standard, with china available on request. If you’d rather do the cooking yourself, we also hire out the hog roast machine.

How it works

  1. You tell us the date, the venue or postcode, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
  2. We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote with the menu.
  3. On the day we arrive hours before serving, set up under cover and start roasting.
  4. Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the time you chose.
  5. We clear the serving area, pack everything away and leave the spot tidy.

The cooking area

A hog roast cooks outdoors for several hours, so it needs a level, open spot away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches, with cover over the machine and a route we can wheel equipment along. Tell us about the space when you enquire.

DIY machine hire

Prefer to roast it yourself? We can hire out the hog roast machine. We’ll explain what’s supplied, how long it takes and how to use it safely when we quote.

Hog roast hire: questions

How does hog roast hire work?

We bring the machine, roast the hog on site for several hours, then our chef carves it and our staff serve it in rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling, with any extras you choose.

What if some guests don’t eat pork?

Add spit-roast lamb or rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers (vegetarian) or a vegan burger or sausage. We don’t offer halal meat.

Can the hog be cooked indoors?

No. The roast is cooked outdoors under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. We can often serve inside a hall, barn or marquee if the venue agrees.

Do you hire out the machine on its own?

Yes. DIY hog roast machine hire is available; we’ll confirm what’s supplied and how it works with your quote.
