Hog roast for parties and birthdays, slow-roasted on site
A hog roast turns a party at home into an occasion. We set up in the garden or on the drive, roast the hog slowly through the day and carve it for your guests at the time you choose. Nobody is stuck in the kitchen, and there’s very little washing up.
Pork rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling are the centrepiece, with rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option for anyone who wants something different, and sides such as coleslaw, salads and jacket potatoes. Prefer to cook it yourself? Ask about DIY machine hire.

How it works
- Tell us the date, your address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
- We check the date and the space in your garden or drive, then send a quote.
- We arrive hours ahead, set up under cover and start the roast.
- Our chef carves and our staff serve at the agreed time.
- We clear up the serving area and pack away.
Space at home
The roaster needs a level, open spot outdoors, away from the house, fences, sheds and overhanging trees, with cover overhead. A patio, drive or lawn usually works. Send us a photo if you’re unsure.
Neighbours
Roasting takes hours and the smell travels. A word with the neighbours beforehand goes a long way, and they may well ask for a roll.

A hog roast compared with other event catering
| Option | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Hog roast | One roast feeds a crowd; carved hot in front of guests; no kitchen needed | It’s pork, so add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options; needs an outdoor cooking spot |
| Barbecue | Casual and familiar | Food comes off in batches; someone has to stand at the grill |
| Food vans | Quick, informal street food | Each order is cooked separately, so big groups can mean queues |
| Cold buffet | Simple; no cooking on site | Food sits out; nothing hot on a cold evening |
| Plated meal | Formal and traditional | Needs a kitchen, more staff and usually costs more per head |

Hog roast for parties and birthdays: questions
Can you set up in a back garden?
Usually, if there’s a level, open spot and a way to wheel the equipment through. Narrow side passages and steps are worth mentioning.
Is a hog roast good for children?
Yes. Plain pork in a soft roll is a favourite with most children, and chicken or a vegan sausage are there for fussier eaters.
Can we hire the machine and cook it ourselves?
Yes. Ask about DIY hog roast machine hire and we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works.
Do you bring plates?
Yes, plates come as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
Where do you cater?
Across London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight. Find your area.
How do I get a quote?
Send us your date, venue or postcode, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat through our quote form, and we’ll reply with a price.
