Care home hog roast days, slow-roasted on site

A hog roast makes a day out of an ordinary afternoon. The smell drifts through the home, residents can watch the carving, and families and staff can join in. We roast outdoors under cover in a garden or car park and carve to order.

We plan the day with your manager and kitchen team: where the roaster goes, which residents are eating and how the food is served. Pork can be carved thinly and served on plates with potatoes and apple sauce rather than in rolls. Residents on texture-modified diets should have their portions prepared by the home’s kitchen; we’ll work alongside them.

How it works

  1. The home tells us the date, numbers (residents, staff and visitors) and serving time.
  2. We agree the cooking spot, clear of emergency access, and send a quote.
  3. On the day we set up outdoors and roast through the morning.
  4. We carve and serve in the dining room, lounge or garden, as you prefer.
  5. We clear away quietly and leave the grounds tidy.

Dietary needs and textures

Your team knows each resident’s needs. We provide full allergen information, carve thinly on request and can serve on plates. Texture-modified meals should come from the home’s own kitchen.

Keeping access clear

We’ll agree a spot that keeps ambulance and delivery access clear and is away from windows that open.
