BBQ catering in Garsington, cooked on site

A barbecue suits mixed groups well, with beef, chicken and pork on the menu, plus halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan burger or sausage. We are frequently asked to cater cricket, football and rugby club days and summer staff days, serving sausages, beef burgers and halloumi skewers.

Country barbecues near Garsington are hard to beat on a summer evening. Have a covered area for guests in wet weather, and think about lighting if it runs late. You get a barbecue without the work: we shop, cook, serve and clear.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote depends on:

  • Access to the cooking area
  • Crockery choices
  • The number of people
  • The journey to the venue

The menu makes a big difference to the price: a simple menu costs less than one with brisket and ribs, so the quote shows each choice. Ask us to suggest a menu for your budget.

What to tell us

These are the details we need:

  • Where the event is
  • Rough numbers
  • Your date and serving time
  • Allergies we should know about

Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so it’s easy to compare like for like. Fill in our quote form.

What the cooking area needs

Most gardens, car parks, yards and fields work if a few things are right. Here’s what helps:

  • A thought for the wind direction, so smoke drifts away from guests
  • Space for the barbecue and a serving table
  • A step-free route to wheel the equipment in

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

How to plan a catered barbecue

A catered barbecue compared with other options

Next to doing the barbecue yourself, nobody you know spends the event at the grill, and the food is cooked properly by people who do it every week. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why book with us

  • Staff to serve, so you don’t have to
  • A clear quote with everything listed
  • Planned to your running order
  • Burgers, ribs, pulled pork, brisket and more

See our prices page or our barbecue menu ideas.

How the day works

A barbecue is cooked as people eat, so we arrive ahead of food time and cook to demand. It means food comes off the grill hot. At midsummer, it’s light in Garsington until about 9:25pm, so an evening barbecue can run late in daylight. In late September, it is dark by about 7:10pm.

  1. Start with the date, the venue and roughly how many.
  2. We check the space and send a quote with the menu.
  3. We arrive in good time and get the barbecue hot.
  4. At food time, we cook and serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage
  • Give us a contact number for the day
  • Tell us roughly how many children are coming

Garsington questions

What’s the nearest station to Garsington?

The closest is Radley station, roughly 3.8 miles away.

Do you come out to small places like Garsington?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Is there anything for vegans?

Yes. There is a halloumi option and a vegan option, cooked separately from the meat.

Can we have a barbecue and a hog roast?

We can. The hog roast feeds a crowd at once, and the barbecue adds choice.

Our chef cooks everything thoroughly, with raw and cooked food kept apart, following Food Standards Agency advice.

What if it rains?

We bring cover for the grill, but guests will want shelter too.

Can it be a sit-down meal?

Yes. A barbecue works as a plated meal with sides; ask about china if you’d like it.

Do you cover Garsington?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, Garsington and the rest of Oxfordshire included. Send us the address for a quote.

Allergies and dietary needs

You will get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • Tell us if anyone does not eat beef
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Ask about allergens in glazes and sauces
  • Collect dietary needs with the RSVPs

All the cooking and serving equipment comes with us, so there is no need to borrow a grill.
