Christmas hog roast for Danaway
Christmas hog roast in Danaway, slow-roasted on site
December is dark early, so we start in daylight and roast into the evening. The cooking area and path need lighting. We serve crackling, rotisserie chicken and roast turkey, and we’re regularly asked to cater between-Christmas-and-New-Year get-togethers and december open days.
In winter near Danaway, we need firm ground and light, as fields are often soft. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.
What we serve, dish by dish
Roast pork
Our chef carves the pork as it is needed, so it stays hot and juicy right to the last roll.
Rotisserie chicken
Rotisserie chicken is a simple, popular alternative to pork, turned until the skin is golden.
Space, access and the venue
Before the day, it helps to think about where the roaster will go. The ideal spot has:
- A short route for our equipment
- A safe distance from anything that could catch the heat
- Somewhere warm and dry for guests to eat
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

A hog roast compared with other options
Compared with a restaurant Christmas party, you avoid set-menu prices and keep everyone in one place. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, plus travel and access. There is no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.
What you get with us
- Timed around your day

The process
It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. In December, it is dark in Danaway by about 3:50pm, so plan lighting for any party after mid-afternoon. We start in daylight and cook into the dark.
- Send us your Christmas party date, venue and numbers.
- We check the date and the outdoor cooking spot, then send a quote.
- We set up under cover in daylight and roast through the afternoon.

Before we arrive
- Confirm numbers ahead of the day
- Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
