Slow-roasted pork in Kingswood

About our Christmas hog roast in Kingswood

Roast turkey can join the pork for a traditional touch, with roast potatoes on the side. There are options for people who don’t eat pork. Popular choices include apple sauce, hog roast rolls and roast potatoes, and we are often booked for family Christmas gatherings and december open days.

At a festive party in Kingswood, hot rolls from the roaster go down well on a dark December evening. We bring plates as standard, with china available if you’d like it, at an extra cost.

Should I cook it myself?

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

Organising for someone else?

Booking for a club or group? One clear contact makes everything easier, particularly when timings shift.

If the event is on someone else’s land, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and get on with roasting and serving. With sunset at about 3:55pm in December, most Christmas parties in Kingswood are after dark. The cooking area is lit; the route to it may need lights too.

  1. Send us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We confirm the space and send a price.
  3. The roast starts in the afternoon.
  4. Our chef carves and staff serve.
  5. We clear away whatever the weather.

How to prepare

  • Check there is a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage

How to get a price

Questions from Kingswood

Which station is closest to Kingswood?

Kingswood has its own station: Kingswood station.

Can you do a hog roast at a venue in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

Is mains power needed?

No, the roast is cooked on gas. Tell us what’s available and we will plan around it.

What do you need from us on the day?

Just the agreed spot and a contact on the day. We bring the roaster, cover and serving kit.

What about Christmas markets?

We do. Hot food is always popular at winter fairs.

Can you roast in the rain?

Rain does not stop the cooking. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.

How much does a hog roast cost?

Each event is priced on its own, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Ask us for a quote.

Can you cater in Kingswood?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, Kingswood and the rest of Surrey included. Tell us the venue and we will quote.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

Tell us how many vegans to expect, and we will plan the vegan burgers or sausages.

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Soft rolls hold the pork, stuffing and apple sauce together, easy to eat standing up. Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Planning a Christmas party in Kingswood

Kingswood is about 4 miles south-west of Coulsdon, in Surrey. Thinking about a hog roast for your Christmas party in Kingswood? We can help. We cover all 395 towns and villages in Surrey. We cater events right across the region, from Kingswood to London (about 15 miles away).

The B2032 make Kingswood easy to reach on a dark winter evening. A winter fair at a school like Tadworth Primary School gets dark early, so hot food is popular. Kingswood is within about 5 miles of the Surrey Hills National Landscape; in winter, rural routes need a bit more planning.

For Christmas parties in KT20, we just need to know where the roaster can cook and a serving time. Whether your Christmas party is on Beech Drive, Bears Den and Hamilton Place or anywhere nearby, we will bring the roaster to you. Being close to the B2032, Kingswood is simple for us to get to. Nearby, we also cater Christmas parties in Tadworth (1 mile north-west), Lower Kingswood (1 mile south), Walton on the Hill (2 miles south-west), Margery (2 miles south) and Mogador (2 miles south). • Local schools include Chinthurst School (1.1 miles west) and The Beacon School (1.7 miles north)
  • Nearby, you’ll find Kingswood Arms (less than half a mile north)

Is a hog roast right for your Christmas party?

Next to a cold Christmas buffet, hot carved meat is far more welcome in December. Numbers make the biggest difference: the price per head usually falls as numbers rise, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

Allergies and dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Keep vegetarian food labelled
  • Count who doesn’t eat pork
  • Send the allergen list round before the party
  • Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen list

Give us a contact for the evening, especially for an office party.

Add roast potatoes for a festive plate.

  • Slow-roasted on site for hours, outdoors at your event
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
  • Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
