A hog roast near Stroude

Film set catering in Stroude, carved to order

Wrap parties suit a hog roast too. On the menu are rotisserie chicken, a vegan option and new potatoes, and we’re frequently booked for shoots on location and unit base lunches.

Near Stroude, check tracks and ground with locations before the day. Our chef carves in front of your crew, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.

What a hog roast costs

Here’s what affects the price:

  • Travel to Stroude
  • Access to the cooking area
  • Menu choices and extras
  • The date and time of year

Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.

Choosing a hog roast caterer

For event organisers in Stroude

Planning on behalf of a committee? One clear contact makes everything easier, especially on the day.

Marquee suppliers normally set distances for cooking equipment, so let them know about the roaster. We’ll keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

Your questions about a hog roast for the crew in Stroude

Can you do a hog roast in Riverside Walk?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first.

Is Stroude too small for a hog roast?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and the ground.

Do you leave the area tidy?

Our staff clear the serving area, so you are not left with the mess.

Do we need to provide electricity?

No, the roast is cooked on gas. Let us know what’s on site.

Do you do wrap parties?

Of course. Tell us the date and location.

Can you cater for vegans on set?

Add alternatives to suit your crew.

Can you work to the call sheet?

We work to your schedule.

Can the hog roast be cooked indoors?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. We can often serve indoors if the venue agrees.

What comes off the roaster

Roast pork

We carve as we serve, which keeps it hot and moist right to the last roll.

Spit-roast lamb

With lamb as well, there are two roasts to choose from, which suits bigger events.

The process

Carving is part of the show: our chef carves the pork in front of the queue, with crackling for everyone who wants it. Summer shoots near Stroude have light until about 9:20pm, so a wrap party can run into the evening.

  1. You send the location, date and lunch call.
  2. We check access to base and quote.
  3. We agree where we set up and when we arrive.
  4. When lunch is called, we carve and serve quickly.
  5. Afterwards we clear our spot at base.

How to prepare

  • Think about shelter for your crew
  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Have a level outdoor spot ready

Planning help

Planning for dietary needs

Most people love a hog roast, but it’s pork. Some ways to look after everyone:

  • Plan separately for halal if needed
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if needed
  • Stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Tell us who does not eat pork

We work to the location’s rules.

A second meat widens the menu.

A hog roast or other catering?

Next to shop-bought sandwiches, a hot hog roast keeps morale up. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, so we quote each one individually.

Why us?

  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • An itemised quote

See how we price or our hog roast cost guide.

Before you choose a spot

A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:

  • Somewhere for crew to eat if it rains
  • A safe distance from kit
  • Flat ground at the unit base

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
