Hog roast for events in Capel-le-Ferne, slow-roasted on site
Charity fundraisers in Capel-le-Ferne can use a hog roast to draw people in. Tell us about the event and we will suggest how it could work. We serve rotisserie chicken, apple sauce and hog roast rolls, and we’re frequently booked for town and village days and vintage rallies.
At a field event near Capel-le-Ferne, power and water may be limited; the roaster runs on gas, so that’s fine. Your quote spells out what’s included: the date, the serving time, the menu and the plates, with no surprises on the day.
Should I cook it myself?
If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.
Common questions in Capel-le-Ferne
How far is Capel-le-Ferne from London?
Roughly 63 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Could you cook in East Cliff and Warren Country Park?
Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
Do you leave the area tidy?
Our staff clear the serving area, so you’re not left with the mess.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
Outside, always. Serving indoors is generally fine if the venue is happy.
Do we need to provide electricity?
The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.
Can you cater for vegetarians?
The menu has lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. We don’t provide halal meat.
Can you do a school fair?
School fairs suit a hog roast. Ask the school about vehicles on site.

You will get allergen information for everything we serve. To help:

- Plan separately for halal if needed
- Make the stall easy to find
- Ask for gluten-free rolls if you expect coeliac visitors

How we price a hog roast for your event
Your quote depends on:
- Access to the cooking area
- The journey to the venue
- The number of people
- The serving time and how long we’re on site
When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. The cheapest quote is not always the best value.
What we need to know
Good details mean a good quote. Useful details:
- What the outdoor space is like
- An estimate of numbers
- Rules from the venue or landowner
- The date and when you’d like to eat
Busy weekends book up early, so ask early for summer Saturdays and December. Tell us your date and we’ll check it: send us your details through our quote form.
A hog roast or other catering?
Next to a barbecue stall, carving is faster than grilling to order. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, and the quote reflects that.
Why us?
- Carved by our chef in front of your visitors
- Served at the time you choose
- No surprises: everything in writing
- Choices for people who don’t eat pork

For planners, venues and organisers
If you’re organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep you both updated.
Organisers may ask for documents such as a risk assessment or gas safety information. Let us know what your event requires and we’ll tell you what we can send.
