Hog roast for events for East End

Hog roast for events in East End, carved to order

Agricultural shows and country events near East End are a natural home for a hog roast, on a field, serving all day. On the menu are apple sauce, crackling and a vegan burger or sausage, and we’re regularly asked to cater fundraising events and horse and dog shows.

At a field event near East End, power and water may be limited; the roaster runs on gas, so that’s fine. Your quote spells out what’s included: the date, the serving time, the menu and the plates.

Organising for someone else?

For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

For workplace bookings, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We work to the site’s rules.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. In December, East End is dark by about 3:55pm, so plan lights for the stall and the queue.

  1. You tell us the event, the pitch and the expected crowd.
  2. We check access to the pitch and send a price.
  3. We arrive early, set up on the pitch and start roasting.
  4. We carve rolls to order as the queue moves.
  5. We pack up and leave the pitch tidy.

How to prepare

  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
  • Give us final numbers a week or so before
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance

Crackling

Long, slow roasting turns the skin into crackling, and there is a piece for everyone who wants it.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Halloumi and vegetable skewers are the vegetarian choice: grilled halloumi with vegetables, in a roll or on a plate.

Common questions in East End

What’s the nearest station to East End?

Combe station, about 1.2 miles east of the centre.

Do you trade at school fairs around East End?

Yes, if the school is happy for a hog roast on site. Send us the date and where the roaster would go.

Do you bring plates?

We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.

When do you start roasting?

Hours rather than minutes. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.

How much room do you need?

A flat, open spot outside, plus a step-free route to wheel the equipment in. Send us a picture if you are unsure.

Do you serve the food?

No need for your own staff: we carve, serve and tidy up.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities are based on your numbers, and we’ll talk it through when we quote.

Can you cater for vegetarians?

Add lamb, chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan option. Please note we do not offer halal meat.

What affects the price in East End

Each booking is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • How many people are eating
  • Menu choices and extras
  • The date and time of year
  • How easy it is to reach the spot

The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to include:

  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture
  • The venue or postcode

Getting a quote is simple: tell us when, where, how many and what time you’d like to eat. You’ll get a clear quote listing what’s included. Use our quote form.

Why choose a hog roast in East End?

At large shows, tell us expected numbers, so we can plan. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.

Looking after everyone

Some visitors will not eat pork, so it is worth adding an alternative. Helpful tips:

  • Share the event’s food safety requirements with us
  • Signpost the stall clearly
  • Tell us if there’s a vegetarian or vegan focus
  • Remember stuffing usually contains gluten

If the ground is soft, we’ll need a firm route on and off, particularly in wet weather.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.
