Slow-roasted pork in Longfield
Hog roast for events near Longfield
Every event handles food differently: a package or a pay-as-you-go stall. Let us know what you have in mind. For charity days and church and village fêtes, we will put together a menu of a vegan burger or sausage, crackling and hog roast rolls and more.
At a fête or show near Longfield, a hog roast brings hot food to a rural site. Tell us about the ground and the way in. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so you’re not left handing out rolls or tidying up afterwards.
The menu, dish by dish
Roast pork
Everything starts with the slow-roasted pork: carved in front of you, a mix of shoulder and leg, and served hot.
Stuffing and apple sauce
Stuffing and a dollop of apple sauce make the roll.

Full catering or machine hire?
Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.

PTAs at schools such as Longfield Academy often want one reliable hot-food stall. An event in Rectory Meadow means agreeing traders and vehicle routes with the landowner, generally the council. Events in and around the Kent Downs National Landscape, within about 7 miles of Longfield, often have rules about cooking, vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules.
We cater events across the DA3 postcode area. Streets in the area include Station Road, Main Road and Ightham Close, and an event on any of them works with a garden, drive or yard for the roaster. Space, access and the venue
A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:
- Any paperwork the organisers need
- Event approval for hot-food traders
- Clearance from other stalls and tents
If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

How it works
When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. In late May, sunset in Longfield is about 8:50pm, and midsummer ones until about 9:20pm. Evening festivals need lighting by the stall after that.
- Tell us about the event.
- We confirm the pitch and send a price.
- The roast starts before the gates open.
- We carve to order through the day.
- We pack down and take our waste.
Before we arrive
- Measure the narrowest gate or passage
- Think about shelter for your visitors
- Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking
