Party hog roast in Brook, slow-roasted on site
A party hog roast turns a garden party into an occasion. We roast on site in Brook, then carve at the time you choose, so you can enjoy your own party. For milestone birthdays and family reunions, we’ll put together a menu of apple sauce, hog roast rolls and a vegan burger or sausage.
In a small place like Brook, a party in the garden or a nearby field is frequently the plan. Let us know about access, and we’ll handle the rest. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so you are not left handing out rolls or tidying up afterwards.
What affects the price in Brook
There is no fixed price list, because every party is different. What matters most:
- Which meats and sides you choose
- How many people are eating
- Access to the cooking area
- Travel to Brook
Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, plus travel and access. There’s no one-size price, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Looking after everyone
With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. A few tips:
- Find out who does not eat pork so we can bring chicken or a vegetarian option
- Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them
- Collect dietary needs when guests reply
- Check the allergen list, as stuffing usually contains gluten
A cooked roast holds for a while, so tell us if timings change.
Bunting or festoon lights near the serving table make a lovely party setting.
A hog roast compared with other options
Hire the machine or book catering? DIY hire works for relaxed get-togethers; catering suits bigger parties. The main driver is numbers: the price per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.
Why us?
- Serving and clearing done for you
- No surprises: everything in writing
- All the equipment comes with us
- Carved to order by a chef

How the day works
We work to your timings. If the day runs behind, we can hold the cooked roast for a while before carving, so tell us as soon as plans change. Sunset in Brook is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so most summer parties eat in daylight. After about 3:55pm in December, we need light to carve.
- Start with the date, the address and roughly how many.
- We check the garden or drive and quote.
- We arrive early and get the roast going.
- We carve and serve at food time.
- We tidy up and pack away.
Getting ready for the day
- Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
- Give us final numbers a week or so before
- Think about shelter for your guests

Questions from Brook
Do you cater at venues in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.
Is Brook too small for a hog roast?
No, we come to small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and the ground.
Can we hire the machine and cook it ourselves?
We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. We’ll explain the details with your quote.
Do you leave the area tidy?
Our staff clear the serving area, so you’re not left with the mess.
What happens in bad weather?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.
Is clearing up included?
Yes, we clear up after service.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it’s several hours. We will confirm our arrival time when we quote.
Can you do gluten-free?
Gluten-free rolls are available on request. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.
Catered or do it yourself?
If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.
- Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
- Carved to order by our chef, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
- Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
