Wedding hog roast near Adisham
For the wedding breakfast, a hog roast becomes a plated meal: carved pork with salads, new potatoes or roast potatoes, with china available on request. We serve spit-roast lamb, halloumi skewers and crackling, and we’re regularly asked to cater farm weddings and evening receptions.
Near Adisham, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. That’s where a hog roast shines: no kitchen, just level ground and cover. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Your quote spells out what’s included: serving times, the menu, staff and anything else agreed, with no surprises on the day.
Catered or do it yourself?
A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.
Space, access and the venue
The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Things to check:
- Step-free access for our equipment
- A level, open cooking spot outside the marquee or barn
- Space well clear of tents and trees
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Step by step
Rain does not stop the roast, because we cook under cover. Your guests will still want somewhere dry to eat, such as a marquee, hall or barn. For a summer wedding in Adisham, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, which means an evening hog roast is generally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.
- Send us the date, venue and guest numbers.
- We check the venue’s rules and the date, then quote.
- We agree timings with your venue coordinator.
- We roast during the day, then carve at the agreed time.
- We serve, tidy up and slip away.
Before we arrive
- Confirm numbers ahead of the day
- Make sure we can wheel the roaster to the spot

A hog roast compared with other options
Next to a cold buffet, hot rolls carved to order go down much better. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Tell us your budget and we will suggest what works.

Planning for dietary needs
Most people love a hog roast, but it’s pork. Some ways to look after everyone:
- Put a dietary question on the invitation
- Remember that stuffing typically contains gluten, so check the allergen list
- Count non-pork eaters, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
- Confirm final numbers a week or so before
