About our BBQ catering in Barnsbury

From a small family gathering to a big club day, a catered barbecue scales to the occasion. Tell us your rough numbers and we’ll plan the menu and service. Popular choices include halloumi skewers, chicken skewers and pulled pork, and we are regularly asked to cater street parties and charity fundraisers.

In a London neighbourhood like Barnsbury, the big question for a barbecue is where the grill can go. Many terraced houses have no side access, so tell us about a rear gate, a front garden or a yard, and a photo helps us check. Plates come as standard, with china available if you’d like it, at an extra cost.

A barbecue or other catering?

Compared with a sit-down meal, a barbecue keeps things informal, and needs no kitchen at the venue. Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Why us?

  • Meat-free choices on every menu
  • Six meats to choose from
  • Barbecue and hog roast together for big events
  • No surprises: everything in writing

How the day works

If timings shift on the day, let your contact know, and we will adjust where we can. Barbecue food is cooked through service, so it’s flexible. Autumn and winter barbecues in Barnsbury get dark early: about 7:05pm by late September and 3:55pm by December. For a late-season barbecue, lunchtime is easiest.

  1. Send a picture of where the barbecue could go.
  2. We check it and send a price.
  3. On the day, we cook on site under cover.
  4. We serve as your guests come up.
  5. We clear up so you don’t have to.

How to prepare

  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Pick a spot where smoke blows away from guests
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches

Barnsbury questions

Can you do a barbecue in Bingfield Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them first.

Which station is closest to Barnsbury?

Barnsbury has its own station: Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station.

Is the barbecue cooked on site?

Yes, on site, outdoors and under cover, with our staff serving and clearing.

Should we have every meat?

Not normally. Mix quick-grilled items with pulled pork or brisket and we’ll advise on the rest.

Will guests know what’s in each dish?

We give you allergen information for every dish, and we can label the vegetarian and vegan options.

What if it rains?

The cooking area is covered, so it’s guests who need a wet-weather plan.

Is the food cooked safely?

That is one of the best reasons to have it catered: raw and cooked food are kept apart, with separate tongs and boards.

Can you do halal?

No, we don’t offer halal meat. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, or halal food can be arranged separately.

For event organisers in Barnsbury

For venues and planners, we’re happy to work alongside your team, sharing timings and a site plan.

Planning on behalf of a committee? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.

Space, access and the venue

Most outdoor spaces work for a barbecue if a few things are right. Check these:

  • Somewhere for us to park close to the cooking spot
  • A level spot in the garden, on the patio or drive
  • A thought for the wind direction, so smoke drifts away from guests

As a London location, Barnsbury is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Prices and what affects them

Each booking is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Access to the cooking area
  • Whether you want china
  • Season and day of the week
  • Travel to Barnsbury

The menu makes a big difference to the price: burgers and sausages cost less than brisket and ribs, so the quote shows each choice. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Details that help

To check availability and the cooking area, we will need:

  • Any venue rules
  • Your date and serving time
  • Where the event is
  • An estimate of numbers

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many people, along with your serving time. We’ll check the date and send a quote. Fill in our quote form.

Planning for dietary needs

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • Check whether anyone avoids pork or beef so the menu has enough choice
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Collect dietary needs with the RSVPs
  • Give us numbers for the meat-free options

On the day, we arrive in good time to set up, so the grill is up to heat when you’re ready to eat.
