How our BBQ catering works in Catisfield
In Catisfield, a barbecue is a favourite for relaxed events: familiar food, lots of choice and no formality. The difference with a catered barbecue is that nobody from your party is stuck at the grill. We serve beef burgers, sausages and coleslaw, and we’re often booked for close and cul-de-sac parties and work barbecues.
Around Catisfield, a garden with room to spare is all you need. It suits that kind of day, with nobody you know stuck at the grill. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so you are not left handing out rolls or tidying up afterwards.
About the food
Pulled pork
Pulled pork in a roll with coleslaw is hard to beat, filling and easy to eat.
Beef brisket
Brisket is a favourite with people who like their beef, in a roll or with sides.
Planners, venues and businesses
If the event is on someone else’s land, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.
Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so check before booking. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.
Before you choose a spot
Most outdoor spaces work for a barbecue if a few things are right. Check these:
- Clearance from walls, marquee sides and overhanging branches
- Space for our vehicle nearby
- A clear way in from where we park
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

How the day works
Our chef runs the grill while our staff serve, so the queue keeps moving. After service, we clear up and pack away. At midsummer, it is light in Catisfield until about 9:20pm, which gives a barbecue a long summer evening. In late September, it is dark by about 7:10pm.

Catisfield questions
Is Catisfield close to London?
Roughly 66 miles from the centre of London.
What about windy coastal sites?
Yes, of course. We cook under cover and choose a sheltered spot where we can.
Is BBQ catering only for summer?
We cook under cover, so the season doesn’t stop us. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.
What do children usually eat?
Normally, yes: simple food in a roll suits most children. Give us a rough number of children.
How do you handle food safety?
Cooking properly is our job: raw and cooked food are kept apart, with separate tongs and boards.
How far ahead should we book?
Popular dates go early. But do ask even at short notice: send us your details through our quote form.
When should we book BBQ catering?
Summer Saturdays go first, so ask as early as you can. Midweek dates are usually easier to get. Use our quote form.
Will guests know what’s in each dish?
Yes, ask us to label the food. Let us know about allergies before the day.
Prices and what affects them
Each price is built from:
- Access to the cooking area
- The number of people
- The journey to the venue
- Crockery choices
Distance is part of the price: we include travel in the quote. Give us the address so the quote is accurate.
Details that help
Here’s what we’ll ask:
- The date and time of the event
- An estimate of numbers
- The venue or postcode
- Any venue rules
Planning ahead? Popular dates fill up early, so ask early for summer Saturdays and December. Tell us your date and we’ll check it: send us your details through our quote form.
Diets, allergies and alternatives
Allergies and dietary needs are easy to manage if we know in advance. Some ideas:
- Give us numbers for the meat-free options
- Check the allergen information for sauces and marinades
- Tell us about children’s numbers
- Add a dietary question to the invitation
All the cooking and serving equipment comes with us, so you do not need to find grills or tongs.
China crockery is available on request, quoted separately.
A catered barbecue compared with other options
Compared with a barbecue cooked by friends, a catered barbecue means everyone gets to be a guest, and the food is cooked by people who do it every week. Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, along with distance and how easy the site is. There’s no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.
