Allergies and dietary needs

We give full allergen information for every dish. To make the most of it:

  • Check whether anyone avoids pork or beef when choosing the meats
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Ask about allergens in glazes and sauces
  • Collect dietary needs with the RSVPs

When everyone has eaten, we clear the serving area and pack away, so there is very little left for you to do.

Pulled pork and brisket make the menu feel more substantial.

How our BBQ catering works in East Village

A good barbecue is about more than burgers: slow-cooked pulled pork, sliced beef brisket and glazed ribs make it feel like a meal, served with salads, coleslaw and potatoes. On the menu are halloumi skewers, BBQ ribs and beef burgers, and we’re regularly asked to cater close and cul-de-sac parties and birthdays and milestone parties.

In East Village, the barbecue might go in a garden, a school playground or a works yard. Let us know about the route in, including steps, narrow gates and parking for our vehicle. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so nobody in your party has to serve or tidying up afterwards.

East Village: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to East Village?

Stratford International station, in East Village itself.

Could you cook in Mabley Green?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first.

How many meats should we choose?

You don’t need everything. Pick a mix of grilled and slow-cooked meats.

Do you provide china?

We bring plates as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we’ll add it to the quote.

Can you cater in East Village?

Yes, East Village is in our area. Send us the address and we’ll confirm availability.

Is the barbecue cooked on site?

Yes, on site at your venue in East Village. We need a level, open area outdoors with room for the grill and a serving table.

Do you need anything from us?

A level, open spot outdoors for the grill, with room for a serving table and a way in for our equipment. Let us know about the site and we’ll confirm what we need.

Do you offer halal meat?

No, we don’t offer halal meat. Our meat-free options are there, or halal food would need to be arranged separately.

About the food

Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

Vegan guests can have a vegan burger or sausage, so nobody misses out.

Sausages

Children normally head straight for the sausages.

Why a catered barbecue beats doing it yourself

Next to a hog roast, a barbecue gives more choice, which helps when some guests don’t eat pork. A hog roast feeds everyone at once and makes a centrepiece, so for bigger events, why not both?. Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why East Village hosts choose us

  • Add a hog roast alongside
  • Timed around your day
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • A full barbecue menu

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the barbecue on the agreed spot, put the cover up and get it hot. From there, we cook as your guests come up, worked around your serving time. At midsummer, it’s light in East Village until about 9:20pm, which gives a barbecue a long summer evening. By late September, sunset is nearer 7:05pm.

  1. We start with your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Pick the menu with us.
  3. We confirm the cooking spot and send a quote.
  4. On the day, our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We pack away and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day

Planning help

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to:

  • Whether you want china
  • The number of people
  • Distance from us
  • How easy it is to reach the spot

Travel matters for the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Tell us the exact address for an accurate figure.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • Roughly how many people

Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so it is easy to compare like for like. Use our quote form.

Space, access and the venue

The grill needs flat ground outdoors and cover overhead. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear way in from where we park
  • A gazebo, marquee or room indoors as a back-up
  • Room for a serving table next to the grill

As a London location, East Village is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.
