BBQ catering in Forest Side

BBQ catering in Forest Side, served hot

Hosting a barbecue usually means shopping, prepping, cooking and clearing. With BBQ catering, all of that is done for you, so you can spend the time with your guests. On the menu are beef brisket, halloumi skewers and coleslaw, and typical bookings are for summer parties in the garden and evening wedding food.

Country barbecues near Forest Side are hard to beat on a summer evening. Have a covered area for guests in wet weather, and think about lighting if it runs late. Our chef cooks everything thoroughly, with separate equipment for raw and cooked food.

How we price a catered barbecue

A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

  • Season and day of the week
  • How many people are eating
  • Crockery choices
  • Distance from us

Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. The cheapest quote isn’t always the best value.

What we need to know

To get the best quote, send us:

  • Your date and serving time
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • The address or postcode
  • Anything the venue has asked for

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so it’s easy to compare like for like. Fill in our quote form.

How the day works

Barbecue food is best straight off the grill, so we cook to order through service. Slow-cooked meats are ready as soon as service begins, which keeps the queue moving. By late September, sunset in Forest Side is about 7:10pm; in December it’s about 4:00pm. A lunchtime barbecue avoids the dark.

  1. Send us the date, the place and roughly how many.
  2. Choose your meats and sides.
  3. We confirm the cooking spot and send a quote.
  4. On the day, our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We pack away and leave the area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm your menu choices in good time
  • Include children in your numbers
  • Gather dietary requirements early

Organising for someone else?

If you are a venue or event planner, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep you both updated.

Planning for dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Check the allergen information for sauces and marinades
  • Check which rolls and sauces contain gluten
  • Check whether anyone avoids pork or beef so the menu has enough choice
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed

Our staff keep the serving table tidy and topped up, right through the service.

China crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

Before you choose a spot

The grill needs flat ground outdoors and cover overhead. Here’s what we look for:

  • A step-free route to wheel the equipment in
  • A gazebo, marquee or room indoors as a back-up
  • Somewhere for us to park close to the cooking spot

Forest Side is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Barbecues in Forest Side: gardens, clubs and local tips

Forest Side is about 1 mile north-west of Newport, in the Isle of Wight. We cover Forest Side and its neighbours for events. Forest Side is one of 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight we cover. Our nearest city page is Southampton, about 15 miles away.

A green space like Seaclose Park is tempting, but a catered barbecue there needs the landowner’s say-so. If the day starts at a church like St. Mary's Church, the barbecue can be ready at a hall or garden close by. With the coast within about 4 miles of Forest Side, wind is the thing to plan for: a sheltered spot keeps the grill steady and the smoke away from the queue.

We cater events across PO30 and the streets around it. Local streets include Forest Road and Gunville Road; an event on any of them works well with outdoor space and a way in. If your venue is just outside Forest Side, we also cover Hunny Hill (1 mile east), Parkhurst (1 mile north-east), Noke Common (1 mile north-east), Porchfield (2 miles north-west) and Locksgreen (2 miles west). We also serve nearby towns such as Ryde (7 miles east), Cowes (4 miles north), Sandown (8 miles south-east), Shanklin (8 miles south-east), Ventnor (9 miles south-east) and East Cowes (4 miles north-east). Remote sites take a little more planning, so contact us in good time.

How to plan a catered barbecue

Your questions about a catered barbecue in Forest Side

Is Forest Side too small for a barbecue?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Can you do a barbecue in Seaclose Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Ask them first.

When should we book?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But do ask even at short notice: use our quote form.

Can you label vegetarian and vegan food?

We can label dishes at the serving table. Let us know about allergies before the day.

Is the food cooked at the event?

Yes, at your event, on a spot we agree with you. The barbecue needs a level spot outdoors, clear of buildings and trees.

Can we have a barbecue and a hog roast?

We can. The hog roast feeds a crowd at once, and the barbecue adds choice.

Can you serve the barbecue on plates?

Of course. A barbecue works as a plated meal with sides; ask about china if you’d like it.

When should we book BBQ catering?

Once your date is fixed, particularly for a summer weekend. But ask even at short notice: use our quote form.

  • Cooked on site by our chef, outdoors under cover
  • Burgers, sausages and chicken, plus ribs, pulled pork and brisket
  • Something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
