BBQ catering for your event in Newtimber

Hosting a barbecue generally means shopping, prepping, cooking and clearing. With BBQ catering, all of that is done for you, so you can enjoy your own event. We’re often asked to cater evening wedding food and club open days, with BBQ ribs, chicken skewers and coleslaw.

A barbecue in the countryside near Newtimber makes a lovely summer party. Plan shelter in case it rains, and think about lighting if it runs late. You get a barbecue without the work: we shop, cook, serve and clear.

Why choose BBQ catering in Newtimber?

Compared with hiring a venue’s in-house menu, you pick the meats, the sides and the meat-free options yourself. Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, along with distance and how easy the site is. There is no one-size price, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Why us?

  • Served at the time you choose
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option
  • Six meats to choose from
  • A clear quote with everything listed

Newtimber questions

Do you cater at venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Do you come out to small places like Newtimber?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

What’s on your BBQ menu?

Six meats, plus vegetarian and vegan options. Most events pick three or four.

How far ahead should we book a barbecue?

As soon as you know the date, particularly for a summer weekend. But ask even at short notice: use our quote form.

Do you cater for vegetarians?

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V) and a vegan burger or sausage (Ve). Tell us numbers so there’s enough.

Do we have to eat from rolls?

Yes. Plates come as standard, with sides such as salads and potatoes.

Can you label vegetarian and vegan food?

You will get allergen information for everything we serve, and we can label the vegetarian and vegan options.

Is BBQ catering only for summer?

We cook under cover, so the season does not stop us. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.

How it works

Before service, we set up the grill and the serving table on the agreed spot. Then it’s a case of cooking and serving for as long as we have agreed. At midsummer, it’s light in Newtimber until about 9:20pm, which gives a barbecue a long summer evening. In late September, it is dark by about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us about your event: date, address and numbers.
  2. We check the space and send a quote with the menu.
  3. We set up under cover before service.
  4. Our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

How to prepare

  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
  • Think about lights for the serving area after dark
  • Tell us roughly how many children are coming

For event organisers in Newtimber

Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so check before booking. We’ll work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, let us know who we’ll deal with on the day. We will keep everyone in the loop.

Allergies and dietary needs

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • Check whether anyone avoids pork or beef so the menu has enough choice
  • Collect dietary needs with the RSVPs
  • Tell us how many vegetarians and vegans to expect
  • Mention any guests who avoid beef

We get there well before service, put the cover up and get the barbecue hot.

For a bigger event, add a hog roast alongside the barbecue.

What affects the price in Newtimber

Each price is built from:

  • Crockery choices
  • Travel to Newtimber
  • Season and day of the week
  • Site access

Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote. Give us the address for an accurate figure.

Getting an accurate quote

When you get in touch, it helps to include:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Roughly how many people
  • Any venue rules
  • The venue or postcode

Send us the date, the address or BN6 postcode and rough numbers, plus when you’d like to eat. We will confirm availability and send a price. Send us your details through our quote form.

What the cooking area needs

Most gardens, car parks, yards and fields work with a little planning. Here’s what helps:

  • Somewhere dry for guests to eat if it rains
  • Clearance from walls, marquee sides and overhanging branches
  • Access through a gate or passage wide enough for our kit

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
