BBQ catering in Seal, served hot

Some hosts in Seal pair a barbecue with a hog roast, giving guests both the spectacle and the variety. We can quote for either or both. For garden parties and fundraising barbecues, we can cook halloumi skewers, chicken skewers and beef burgers.

In a small place like Seal, a barbecue in a garden, a paddock or the village green with permission is often the plan. Let us know about access, and we will handle the rest. Everything is cooked through properly, with separate equipment for raw and cooked food.

Prices and what affects them

We don’t use a fixed price list, since every event is different. What matters most:

  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • Travel to Seal
  • How many people are eating
  • Plates or china

When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. The cheapest quote isn’t always the best value.

Details that help

Good details mean a good quote. Please include:

  • Rules from the venue or landowner
  • Rough numbers
  • Dietary requirements
  • Your date and serving time

Every event is quoted on its own, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Ask us for a quote for your event: fill in our quote form.

Seal: your questions answered

Can you do a barbecue in Kemsing Down?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Ask them first.

Can you do a barbecue at a venue in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.

What do you need from the venue?

Mostly space and access: a level spot outdoors, clear of buildings, with cover over the grill. We’ll confirm details when we quote.

Will you clear up afterwards?

We bring plates and clear up after service.

Do you bring plates?

We bring plates as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we’ll add it to the quote.

Is a barbecue good for children?

Burgers and sausages are normally the children’s favourites, and a vegan sausage covers anyone who doesn’t eat meat. Let us know numbers for children.

How soon do you get booked up?

As early as you can for summer weekends and December. Quieter dates can often be booked at shorter notice. Send your date and we will check.

What’s on your BBQ menu?

Beef burgers, sausages, chicken skewers, BBQ ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket, with halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan burger or sausage. Sides include salads, coleslaw and potatoes.

How the day works

When we arrive, we position the grill under cover and get it up to heat. Then our chef cooks through the service time, worked around your serving time. A summer barbecue in Seal stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, which gives a barbecue a long summer evening. In late September, it’s dark by about 7:05pm.

  1. Start with the date, the venue and roughly how many.
  2. We check the space and send a quote with the menu.
  3. We set up under cover before service.
  4. Our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We clear the serving area and go.

How to prepare

  • Pick a spot where smoke blows away from guests
  • Let us know about children’s numbers
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage

Planning the cooking spot

Most outdoor spaces work for a barbecue if a few things are right. A quick checklist:

  • Space for the barbecue and a serving table
  • A step-free route to wheel the equipment in
  • A spot where smoke will not blow into the house or marquee

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Is a barbecue right for your event?

Instead of a takeaway delivery, the cooking is part of the atmosphere, with the smell drawing people over. Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, along with distance and how easy the site is. There is no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.

What you get with us

  • Timed around your day
  • Vegetarian and vegan options as standard
  • Cooked on site by our chef
  • Staff to serve, so you do not have to

Read our prices page or BBQ menu ideas.

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To help:

  • Check the allergen information for sauces and marinades
  • Ask which items contain gluten
  • Keep the meat-free options clearly labelled
  • Tell us about children’s numbers

All the cooking and serving equipment comes with us, so there’s no need to borrow a grill.
