BBQ catering in Sprig's Alley

About our BBQ catering in Sprig's Alley

Barbecue food is at its best straight from the grill, so we cook and serve through the agreed service time. Give us your serving time and we’ll work to it. On the menu are beef brisket, coleslaw and chicken skewers, and we are frequently booked for cricket, football and rugby club days and reunions and family get-togethers.

In a small place like Sprig's Alley, a barbecue in a garden, a paddock or the village green with permission is frequently the plan. Let us know about access, and we will handle the rest. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so you’re not left handing out rolls.

A closer look at the menu

Chicken skewers

Chicken gives guests who do not eat pork or beef a meat option, cooked until it is hot all the way through.

Pulled pork

Because it is slow-cooked, pulled pork is ready as soon as we start serving, so nobody waits for the grill.

Sprig's Alley questions

Which station is closest to Sprig's Alley?

Saunderton station, about 2.9 miles east of the centre.

Can you do a barbecue at a venue in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

Do you provide china?

We bring plates as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.

What happens after service?

Our staff clear up after service, and leave the area tidy.

Is the food cooked at the event?

Yes. Our chef cooks outdoors, under cover, at your event, and our staff serve and clear.

Is a barbecue good for children?

Normally, yes: burgers and sausages in a roll are easy for small hands. Give us a rough number of children.

Do you label the food for allergies?

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve, and we will label the meat-free choices clearly.

Is the meat halal?

No. Please arrange halal food separately if anyone needs it.

How the day works

One of us cooks, the others serve, so the queue keeps moving. When everyone has eaten, we clear the serving area. For an evening barbecue in Sprig's Alley, think about light: daylight lasts until about 9:25pm at midsummer, but by late September it goes at about 7:05pm. Plan lights for the serving area after that.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
  3. We arrive ahead of service and set up under cover.
  4. We cook and serve when you are ready to eat.
  5. We clear the serving area and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Let us know about children’s numbers

Planners, venues and businesses

If the event is on someone else’s land, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

Booking for a club or group? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.

Planning the cooking spot

Most gardens, yards, car parks and fields can take a barbecue if a few things are right. A quick checklist:

  • A level spot in the garden, on the patio or drive
  • A thought for the wind direction, so smoke drifts away from guests
  • Somewhere for us to park close to the cooking spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before you book.

Why a catered barbecue beats doing it yourself

Compared with a sit-down meal, a barbecue is relaxed and sociable, and it does not need a kitchen. Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

What you get with us

  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Our chef at the grill, not you
