Planners, venues and businesses

If the event is on someone else’s land, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so check before you book. We’ll work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.

How our BBQ catering works in Upper Farringdon

In Upper Farringdon, a barbecue is a favourite for relaxed events: plenty of choice, nothing fussy and everyone happy. With us cooking, nobody you know spends the afternoon at the grill. We serve halloumi skewers, sausages and beef brisket, and we are often booked for birthdays and milestone parties and relaxed weddings and evening receptions.

In a small place like Upper Farringdon, a barbecue in a garden, a paddock or the village green with permission is frequently the plan. Tell us about lanes and ground, and we’ll handle the rest. Plates come as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

A barbecue or other catering?

Instead of asking a friend to man the grill, a catered barbecue means everyone gets to be a guest, and the food is cooked by people who do it every week. What you choose to eat matters most: a simple menu costs less than one with brisket and ribs, so we list each item in the quote. Ask us to suggest a menu for your budget.

What you get with us

  • A choice of salads and potatoes
  • Meat-free choices on every menu
  • Timed around your day
  • Cooked on site by our chef

See our prices page or our barbecue menu ideas.

How the day works

Before service, we set up the grill and the serving table on the agreed spot. Then it’s a case of cooking and serving through the time you’ve chosen. Sunset in Upper Farringdon is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so an early-evening barbecue is normally in daylight.

  1. Tell us about your event: date, address and numbers.
  2. We check the cooking spot and quote.
  3. We set up under cover before service.
  4. Our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Choose the menu a week or so before
  • Think about shelter for your guests
  • Arrange lighting for a late barbecue

Your questions about a catered barbecue in Upper Farringdon

Do you cater at venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.

How far is Upper Farringdon from London?

Roughly 47 miles from the centre of London.

Do you cover Upper Farringdon?

Yes, Upper Farringdon is in our area. Send us the address and we will check the date.

Can you do a hog roast as well?

Yes. Many bigger events have both. Tell us your numbers and we will suggest a split.

How soon do you get booked up?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But it’s always worth asking: fill in our quote form.

Do you cater for vegetarians?

We do. There’s a halloumi option and a vegan option, cooked separately from the meat.

Do you clear up?

Our staff clear the serving area, and we take our equipment with us.

Do you need anything from us?

A level, open spot outdoors for the grill, with room for a serving table and a way in for our equipment. Let us know about the site and we will confirm what we need.

What BBQ catering costs

Every booking is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Plates or china
  • Access to the cooking area
  • The number of people
  • Travel to Upper Farringdon

Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Details that help

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Useful details:

  • Allergies we should know about
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • Roughly how many people
  • The venue or postcode

Numbers not final yet? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, and you can confirm nearer the time. Send us your details through our quote form.

What the cooking area needs

Planning the cooking spot is the key. Check these:

  • A level lawn, patio or hard standing
  • Space for the barbecue and a serving table
  • A thought for the wind direction, so smoke drifts away from guests

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before booking.

From the grill

  • Salads
  • Coleslaw
  • Beef brisket
  • New potatoes
  • Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
  • Sausages
  • Beef burgers
  • Halloumi skewers (V)
  • Jacket potatoes

Planning for dietary needs

Allergies and dietary needs are easy to manage if we know in advance. Tips:

  • Halal is not offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Ask about allergens in glazes and sauces
  • Tell us about children’s numbers
  • Tell us if anyone doesn’t eat beef

We get there well before service, so the grill is up to heat when you are ready to eat.

Ask about china for a sit-down meal, at extra cost.
