BBQ catering in Watermill

Working with your venue

If the event is on someone else’s land, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep everyone in the loop.

How our BBQ catering works in Watermill

Food from a barbecue is best eaten hot off the grill, so we cook and serve through the agreed service time. Give us your serving time and we will work to it. We serve beef burgers, coleslaw and beef brisket, and we are regularly asked to cater reunions and family get-togethers and community fun days.

Country barbecues near Watermill are hard to beat on a summer evening. Have a covered area for guests in wet weather. Plates come as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

With the coast within about 6 miles of Watermill, wind is the thing to plan for: we choose a sheltered spot for the grill and keep smoke away from guests.

A barbecue or other catering?

Next to doing the barbecue yourself, nobody you know spends the event at the grill, and the food is cooked properly by people who do it every week. The menu makes a big difference to the price: a simple menu costs less than one with brisket and ribs, so the quote shows each choice. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What you get with us

  • Barbecue and hog roast together for big events
  • A choice of salads and potatoes
  • Six meats to choose from
  • An itemised quote

The menu, dish by dish

Sausages

Sausages go down well with younger guests, and they’re easy to eat standing up.

Pulled pork

Because it is slow-cooked, pulled pork is ready as soon as we start serving, which keeps the queue moving.

FAQs for Watermill

Is Watermill too small for a barbecue?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Which station is closest to Watermill?

The closest is Crowhurst station, roughly 1.9 miles away.

Will you clear up afterwards?

We tidy the serving area, so there’s very little washing up. Ask if you’d like china.

What if it rains?

The barbecue cooks under cover, so a shower does not stop it. Have a gazebo, marquee or room indoors for eating.

Do you label the food for allergies?

Yes, ask us to label the food. Tell us about allergies in advance.

What do you need from the venue?

The main thing is an outdoor cooking spot we can reach. Let us know about the site and we will confirm what we need.

Is crockery included?

We supply plates as standard. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

Do you cook the barbecue on site?

Yes. Our chef cooks outdoors, under cover, at your event, and our staff serve and clear.

  • Allergies we should know about

  • The date and time of the event
  • Rules from the venue or landowner

How it works

Grilled food is at its best when it’s hot, so we cook to order through service. Pulled pork and brisket are ready from the start, so nobody waits for the first round. At midsummer, it is light in Watermill until about 9:15pm, so an evening barbecue can run late in daylight. In late September, it is dark by about 7:00pm.

  1. Send us the date, the place and roughly how many.
  2. Choose your meats and sides.
  3. We check the space and quote.
  4. We cook on site and serve at the agreed time.
  5. We pack away and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Choose the menu a week or so before
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage
  • Let us know about children’s numbers

How to get a price
