A barbecue near Whiteleaf

Your questions about a catered barbecue in Whiteleaf

Is Whiteleaf close to London?

About 35 miles from central London.

Do you come out to small places like Whiteleaf?

No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Will children like the BBQ?

Burgers and sausages are typically the children’s favourites, with a vegan sausage for any vegetarian children. Let us know numbers for children.

Is there anything for vegans?

We do. Vegetarians get halloumi and vegetable skewers, and vegans get a vegan burger or sausage, cooked separately from the meat.

Is the meat halal?

No. Please arrange halal food separately if anyone needs it.

How much choice do we need?

Most events choose three or four meats, plus the meat-free options. A shorter menu also speeds up service.

Do you come to Whiteleaf?

We do. Tell us the venue or postcode and we’ll check the date.

Is the food cooked safely?

Our chef cooks everything thoroughly, with raw and cooked food kept apart, in line with Food Standards Agency guidance.

How our BBQ catering works in Whiteleaf

A home barbecue means hours at the grill and a pile of washing up. A catered barbecue takes all of that off your hands, so you can spend the time with your guests. Popular choices include BBQ ribs, halloumi skewers and chicken skewers, and we are regularly asked to cater informal weddings and club open days.

In a small place like Whiteleaf, a barbecue in a garden, a paddock or the village green with permission is frequently the plan. Tell us about lanes and ground, and we will handle the rest. We bring plates as standard, with china available if you’d like it, at an extra cost.

Looking after everyone

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Tell us about children’s numbers
  • Halal is not offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food
  • Collect dietary needs with the RSVPs

We cook as your guests come up, while our staff serve and keep things flowing.

Sides turn a barbecue into a proper meal.

What BBQ catering costs

We don’t use a fixed price list, because every event is different. The main factors are:

  • Access to the cooking area
  • Whether you want china
  • Season and day of the week
  • Travel to Whiteleaf

When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. The cheapest quote isn’t always the best value.

What we need to know

These are the details we need:

  • Rules from the venue or landowner
  • The venue or postcode
  • An estimate of numbers
  • The date and when you’d like to eat

Numbers not final yet? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, and you can confirm nearer the time. Use our quote form.

Working with your venue

Planning on behalf of a committee? One clear contact makes everything easier, especially on the day.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, a PA or on a committee, let us know who we’ll deal with on the day. We will keep you both updated.

Planning the cooking spot

Most outdoor spaces can work with a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Flat ground outdoors for the barbecue
  • Access through a gate or passage wide enough for our kit
  • Somewhere dry for guests to eat if it rains

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we serve

  • Halloumi skewers (V)
  • Salads
  • New potatoes
  • Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
  • Coleslaw
  • Pulled pork
  • Jacket potatoes
  • Chicken skewers
  • Sausages
  • BBQ ribs
  • Beef brisket
  • Beef burgers

  • Which meats, sides and extras are included
  • Any travel or access charges

How to plan a catered barbecue

A barbecue or other catering?

Compared with hiring a venue’s in-house menu, you pick the meats, the sides and the meat-free options yourself. The menu makes a big difference to the price: a simple menu costs less than one with brisket and ribs, so we list each item in the quote. Ask us to suggest a menu for your budget.

Why Whiteleaf hosts choose us

  • Add a hog roast alongside
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option
  • Our chef at the grill, not you
  • Timed around your day

Read how we price and BBQ menu ideas.

How the day works

The barbecue cooks under cover, so a shower will not stop it, though your guests will want shelter if it rains. Sunset in Whiteleaf is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, so most summer barbecues are served in daylight.

  1. Tell us about your event: date, address and numbers.
  2. We check the cooking spot and quote.
  3. We arrive in good time and get the barbecue hot.
  4. Our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Think about lights for the serving area after dark
  • Choose the menu a week or so before
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages

A catered BBQ in Whiteleaf: what to know

Whiteleaf is about 6 miles south of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. Whiteleaf is well within our area for events. We cater all 263 towns and villages in Buckinghamshire, from the larger towns to small villages. Our nearest city page is Oxford, about 18 miles away.

If the day starts at a church like Church of St Dunstan, the barbecue can be ready at a hall or garden close by.
