Questions from Merton

Can you do a hog roast in Wandle Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.

What’s the nearest station to Merton?

The closest is Haydons Road station, roughly 0.8 miles away.

Do you do DIY hog roast hire?

We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we’ll talk you through it.

Can you trade at our Christmas fair?

Yes. Hot food is always popular at winter fairs.

Do guests have to eat outside?

We cook outside, but can generally serve indoors if the venue agrees.

When do you start roasting?

A whole hog roasts for several hours, so we arrive well before you want to eat. We work back from your serving time.

Is crockery included?

We supply plates as standard. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

Do December dates go quickly?

December weekends go first. Send your date early.

Step by step

When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. Sunset in Merton in late December is about 3:55pm, so plan lighting for any party after mid-afternoon. We start in daylight and cook into the dark.

  1. You tell us your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
  3. We set up in daylight and roast into the evening.
  4. We carve and serve hot when you’re ready.
  5. We clear away, even on a dark, wet evening.
