Corporate hog roast in Capstone, slow-roasted on site

Open days and family fun days need food that copes with a crowd. A hog roast does exactly that, and our team serves and clears. We’re frequently asked to cater client and customer events and summer team parties, serving halloumi skewers, crackling and spit-roast lamb.

For farms and rural sites near Capstone, we can cook in the yard. Tell us about access. The hog is roasted on site at your staff event, slowly, over several hours.

How the day works

Serving is straightforward: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. Daytime open days in Capstone are rarely affected by light, though in winter it is dark by about 3:50pm, so late events need lighting.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

Next to a plated lunch, it is less formal and normally costs less. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.

Why Capstone hosts choose us

  • Served at the time you choose
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Carved by our chef in front of your staff
  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated

Read our prices page and what a hog roast costs.

What a hog roast costs

There’s no fixed price list, because every staff event is different. The main factors are:

  • Travel to Capstone
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • How long the roast and service take
  • Which meats and sides you choose

Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. Every event gets its own quote, with everything listed.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what we will ask:

  • What the outdoor space is like
  • The address or postcode
  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • The date and when you’d like to eat

Every staff event is quoted on its own, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Tell us about your staff event for a quote: use our quote form.

Working with your venue

If you’re a venue or event planner, we’re happy to work alongside your team.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, let us know who we’ll deal with on the day. We’ll keep you both updated.

What the cooking area needs

The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Things to check:

  • Your site’s agreement to a gas-fired roaster
  • A contact on site
  • A level spot in the car park, yard or grounds

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

From the roaster

  • Halloumi skewers (V)
  • Coleslaw
  • Stuffing and apple sauce
  • Spit-roast lamb
  • Crackling
  • Rotisserie chicken
  • Hog roast rolls
  • Salads
  • Vegan option (Ve)

DIY versus a catered hog roast

You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
