How the day works

The secret is time: hours of gentle heat make the pork soft and juicy while the skin crisps into crackling. Then it rests briefly before our chef carves. On a winter shoot near Basted, the light goes by about 3:55pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. You send the location, date and lunch call.
  2. We check the route and send a price.
  3. We agree where we set up and when we arrive.
  4. When lunch is called, we carve and serve quickly.
  5. Afterwards we clear our spot at base.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Check there is a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps
  • Have a covered area for eating in case of rain

Do you come out to small places like Basted?

No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

How much room do you need?

Enough level ground outdoors for the roaster and a serving table under cover, plus a step-free route to wheel the equipment in. Send us a photo if you are unsure.

Who serves?

We carve and serve for you, and we clear up when service is finished.

How long does the roast need?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it is several hours. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.

What’s the price?

Every booking is quoted individually, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Ask us for a quote.

Do you have documents for locations?

Every production is different; share your list and we will respond.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

For a wrap party, it is a relaxed way to finish. A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

Why us?

  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Staff to serve, so you do not have to

How we price a hog roast for the crew

The biggest factors are:

  • Plates or china
  • The number of people
  • Access to the cooking area
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays

Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

What to tell us
