Film set catering in Nutfield, carved to order

Some locations near Nutfield are a long way from food, so hot food at base matters. For unit base lunches and long shoot days, we’ll put together a menu of halloumi skewers, rotisserie chicken and new potatoes and more.

For a shoot in a place like Nutfield, tracks and soft ground need checking before the day. The carving happens right in front of your crew, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp.

Is a hog roast right for your shoot?

Compared with a full location caterer, a hog roast is simpler and suits smaller shoots and one-off days. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

What you get with us

  • Choices for people who do not eat pork
  • Planned to your running order
  • Cooked on the day, low and slow
  • Sides to make it a full meal

Working with your venue

For events on land you do not own, such as a park or field, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

If you’re booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.

The process

People love watching the carving: the hog is carved in front of your crew, with crackling for everyone who wants it. In December, daylight in Nutfield ends around 3:55pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us the base location.
  2. We confirm where we set up.
  3. We cook at base.
  4. We serve rolls or plates quickly.
  5. We tidy up and go.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the cooking area is away from walls, tents and trees
  • Have a covered area for eating in case of rain
  • Have a level outdoor spot ready

Roast pork

The hog roasts slowly for hours, so the meat is tender and juicy, and our chef carves it to order.

Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

Vegan crew can have a vegan burger or sausage, so everyone has something hot.

What a hog roast costs

We don’t use a fixed price list, because every shoot is different. The main factors are:

  • The serving time and how long we’re on site
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • The journey to the venue
  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken

Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.
