Film set catering for your shoot in Potters Corner

Whatever the production, we work to your schedule. Whether it’s crew thank-you days and countryside locations, we can cook spit-roast lamb, salads and new potatoes.

For a shoot in a place like Potters Corner, tracks and soft ground need checking before the day. The carving happens right in front of your crew, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.

Questions from Potters Corner

Can you do a hog roast at a venue in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.

Could you cook in Ashford Warren and Hoads Wood?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Ask them first.

Can you cater our wrap?

Yes, a hog roast suits a relaxed wrap party, with lamb or chicken if you like.

Can you work to the call sheet?

We work to your schedule.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

We work back from when you want to eat, and we can hold the roast for a while if the day runs behind.

When should we book?

Summer Saturdays and December book up first. Quieter dates can frequently be booked at shorter notice. Ask and we’ll check.

How much room do you need?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We will confirm the space with your quote.

Do you need much space at base?

Not much: a level area at base, agreed with locations.

A hog roast compared with other options

A hog roast can be a special day alongside regular catering, for a wrap or a milestone. Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

Why us?

  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and get on with roasting and serving. On a winter shoot near Potters Corner, the light goes by about 3:50pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:15pm.

  1. The production office sends us the location, dates, numbers and lunch time.
  2. We check the route and send a price.
  3. We agree where we set up and when we arrive.
  4. When lunch is called, we carve and serve quickly.
  5. Afterwards we clear our spot at base.

How to prepare

  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Choose someone to meet us on arrival
