Slow-roasted pork in Dukes Green

Hog roast for events in Dukes Green, carved to order

Organisers need traders who turn up and serve well. We bring everything, roast on the pitch and leave it clean. On the menu are apple sauce, crackling and rotisserie chicken, and typical bookings are for car and steam shows and tournaments and sports days.

A fête near Dukes Green might be on a field with no mains power; the roaster runs on gas, so that’s fine. Let us know about allergies and dietary needs in advance, and we’ll give you the allergen information for every dish before you book.

Full catering or machine hire?

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is typically easier.

If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You cook and carve it yourself; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

What we serve, dish by dish

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Rolls make a hog roast easy to eat anywhere. Gluten-free rolls can be provided on request.

Stuffing and apple sauce

A spoonful of apple sauce and a slice of stuffing make the roll.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. In late May, sunset in Dukes Green is about 8:50pm, while at midsummer it’s about 9:15pm. Evening festivals need lighting by the stall after that.

  1. Share the date, site and expected crowds.
  2. We discuss the package or stall options.
  3. We arrive and set up under cover.
  4. Carving keeps the queue moving.
  5. We tidy the pitch.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking
  • Think about shelter for your visitors
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
