Roughly 43 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Do you cater at venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

What if things run late?

Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll adjust.

The roaster is under cover, so a shower doesn’t stop us. Your visitors will want somewhere dry to eat.

We carve and serve for you, then clear the serving area afterwards.

What do you need from the organiser?

Mainly a pitch and access. We bring the rest.

What should we sort out beforehand?

The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We bring everything else.

What’s included?

The classic: pork in rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.

What happens on the day

The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We will agree the spot with you beforehand. In late May, sunset in Sandhurst is about 8:45pm, while at midsummer it’s about 9:15pm. After dark, the stall needs lighting.

  1. Organisers send us the date, site, numbers and how food will be paid for.
  2. We check access to the pitch and send a price.
  3. On the day we set up under cover and get the hog on.
  4. We carve and serve through the agreed hours.
  5. Afterwards we clear the pitch and go.

Before we arrive

  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Let us know about tight access
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat

A hog roast or other catering?

Next to a barbecue stall, a hog roast serves quickly from one roast. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, and the quote reflects that.
