Hog roast hire in New Hythe, carved to order
Our hog roast hire is fully catered: we roast, our chef carves and our staff serve. If you’d rather do it yourself, we also hire out the machine. On the menu are coleslaw, crackling and halloumi skewers, and we are regularly asked to cater clubhouse events and wedding breakfasts and evening food.
In a hamlet or village like New Hythe, a farmyard or a neighbour’s field can make a good cooking spot. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so nobody in your party has to serve.

Allergies and dietary needs
Rolls and stuffing generally contain gluten, and gluten-free rolls are available on request. A few more tips:
- Count anyone who does not eat pork, and order an alternative for them
- Give us numbers for vegetarians and vegans for the halloumi skewers and vegan option
- We don’t offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it’s needed
- Put the menu on the invitation
We’ll agree a contact for the day, ideally not the host, so you can enjoy yourself.

What a hog roast costs
Each price is built from:
- Which meats and sides you choose
- Access to the cooking area
- How many people are eating
- The date and time of year
A hog roast is often good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds plenty of people. Extras, china and longer service add to it.
What to tell us
These are the details we need:
- Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
- A photo of the cooking area
- Any venue rules
- Roughly how many people
The quickest way to get a price is to send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Send us your details through our quote form.
FAQs for New Hythe
Is New Hythe too small for a hog roast?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and the ground.
Could you cook in Leybourne Lakes Country Park?
Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Check with them first.
What about guests who do not eat pork?
There are lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan burger or sausage. Please note we don’t offer halal meat.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, at a safe distance from walls and tents. We can often serve indoors if the venue agrees.
Is mains power needed?
Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Do you do DIY hog roast hire?
We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we will talk you through it.
What’s the price?
Numbers, menu and travel decide the price. Tell us your date and we’ll send a price.
What meats can we have?
The hog is the centrepiece, but lamb and chicken can be added.
How the day works
The roaster cooks outdoors, on a level, open spot under cover, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We will agree the spot with you beforehand. Around midsummer it stays light in New Hythe until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so a summer evening hog roast is normally carved in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:50pm, we need light by the roaster and the serving table.
- We start with a few details about your event.
- We check the date and the cooking spot, then send a quote.
- We agree timings and where the roaster goes.
- On the day we roast for hours, then carve to order.
- Our staff serve and clear, then we pack away.
Before we arrive
- Choose someone to meet us on arrival
- Think about shelter for your guests
- Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
Ask for a quote
For a quote, send us a few details: the date and serving time, the venue or ME20 postcode, rough numbers and which extras you’d like. Send us your details through our quote form.
