Party hog roast near Cockfosters
Throwing a party is hard work. With a hog roast, the food is sorted: we roast, carve, serve and clear. Whether it is christenings and naming days and family reunions, we can cook crackling, jacket potatoes and apple sauce for your guests.
In Cockfosters, a party at home is the usual choice, and access is the question. With no side passage, a rear gate or front garden may work. Send us a photo. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet
Compared with takeaway pizzas, a hog roast is part of the party, not just the food. Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.
Why us?
- Choices for people who don’t eat pork
- We bring everything to cook and serve
- A clear quote with everything listed
- Staff to serve, so you do not have to
How we price a hog roast for your party
Every booking is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:
- Numbers
- The journey to the venue
- Crockery choices
- The date and time of year
Numbers make the biggest difference: the price per head typically falls as numbers rise, since much of the cost is fixed.
Details that help
To check the date and the space, we will need:
- Your date and serving time
- Which meats and sides you’d like
- Where the event is
- What the outdoor space is like
The quickest way to get a price is to send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Fill in our quote form.
How the day works
When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. In Cockfosters, late May sunsets come at about 8:55pm and midsummer ones at about 9:20pm, so most summer parties eat in daylight. After about 3:55pm in December, we need light to carve.
- You tell us the date, your address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
- We check the space and send a clear quote.
- On the day we arrive hours ahead and start the roast under cover.
- We carve and serve at the agreed time.
- Afterwards we tidy up the serving area.
Preparing for the day
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
- Plan a step-free way in for the equipment
- Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster

About the food
Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)
Vegetarians get halloumi and vegetable skewers, so they get something hot and satisfying too.
Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
Tell us how many vegans to expect, and we’ll bring enough vegan burgers or sausages.
Should I cook it myself?
Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.
Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Cockfosters questions
Could you cook in Belmont Open Space?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.
Can you cater after a service at Christ Church?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is generally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.
When should we book?
Summer Saturdays and December book up first. Quieter dates can often be booked at shorter notice. Ask and we’ll check.
What’s the price?
Numbers, menu and travel decide the price. Send us the details and we’ll quote.
What if things run late?
Within reason, we can. Give us a contact on the day and we will adjust.
Can the hog roast be cooked indoors?
It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.
What’s included?
Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.
Do you bring plates?
We bring plates as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
Working with your venue
Venues often have rules for outside caterers, from approved lists to where a gas roaster can go. Ask early, and pass on anything they need from us.
For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers.
- Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
- Carved to order by our chef, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
- Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
