Party hog roast in Ospringe, slow-roasted on site
Party food needs to be easy to eat, so hog roast rolls are ideal. Alternatives cover anyone who doesn’t eat pork. Typical bookings include naming ceremonies and garden parties, with a vegan burger or sausage, crackling and hog roast rolls.
In a place like Ospringe, a party at home is normally the easiest option. Let us know how we reach the garden, and we will bring everything else. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
For planners, venues and organisers
If you’re booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We’ll fit in with site rules.
Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so check before you book. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.

Your questions about a hog roast for your party in Ospringe
Which station is closest to Ospringe?
Faversham station, about 0.8 miles east of the centre.
Can you cater after a service at Church of St Peter and St Paul?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is generally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.
What about the neighbours?
It’s worth warning them: the roast cooks for hours and the smell travels. Some hosts invite them over for a roll.
What if things run late?
We’ll be as flexible as we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll adjust.
Do we need our own staff?
You do not need anyone else: we carve, serve and tidy up.
Will a hog roast fit in our garden?
Tell us about the garden and the access, and we’ll give you an honest answer.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.
What if it rains?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.
Should I cook it myself?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll confirm what comes with it when you ask.

Allergies and dietary needs
With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. A few tips:
- Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed

- Keep the vegetarian option labelled
- Count non-pork eaters so we can bring chicken or a vegetarian option
We set up in the agreed spot, so the party carries on around us.
Add chicken for younger or fussier guests.
What we serve, dish by dish
Crackling
Crackling takes hours to get right, which is exactly what a slow hog roast gives it.
Stuffing and apple sauce
No hog roast roll is complete without sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce, cutting through the richness of the pork.
A hog roast or other catering?
Compared with cooking for everyone yourself, a catered hog roast gives you the day back. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
Why book with us

- Timed around your day

How the day works
People love watching the carving: our chef carves the pork in front of the queue, and the crackling is shared out so everyone gets some. Sunset in Ospringe is about 8:45pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June, so most summer parties eat in daylight. Winter parties, dark by about 3:50pm, need lights by the roaster.
- Show us the garden or drive.
- We check the space and quote.
- On the day, we roast slowly under cover.
- We serve when you are ready.
- We clear up so you do not have to.
How to prepare
- Make sure the cooking area is away from walls, tents and trees
- Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
