Wedding hog roast for Great Linford

Should I cook it myself?

Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

A hog roast compared with other options

A common mix is a plated meal followed by an evening hog roast; others have the hog roast as the main event. Travel matters for the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Give us the address for an accurate figure.

What comes off the roaster

Roast pork

Hours of slow roasting make the pork soft and full of flavour, and our chef carves it to order.

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Soft rolls hold the pork, stuffing and apple sauce together, perfect for eating on the move. Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

The process

Your timings come first. If things run late, a cooked roast can be kept hot for a while, so keep us posted on the day. In Great Linford, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, which means an evening hog roast is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We confirm the date and the venue and send a price.
  3. We fit timings around your running order.
  4. We roast during the day, then carve at the agreed time.
  5. Our staff serve and clear, then we leave quietly.

How to prepare

  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Name a contact for the day
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches

Can you do a hog roast in Campbell Park?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But it’s always worth asking: use our quote form.

Can we have both pork and lamb?

Of course: lamb and pork together give guests a choice.

What if it rains?

We roast under cover, so the food is not affected. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.

Looking after everyone

A hog roast is pork, so plan for anyone who doesn’t eat it. Some ways to look after everyone:

  • Remember that stuffing generally contains gluten, so check the allergen list
  • Collect dietary needs with RSVPs
  • Confirm final numbers a week or so before
  • Count non-pork eaters, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice

Give us your venue coordinator’s details, so we can sort the cooking spot and timings with them.

Some couples add lights around the serving area.

  • Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
  • Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
  • Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
  • Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
