About our wedding hog roast in Mill Hill
A hog roast is made for marquee, barn and garden weddings near Mill Hill. The roaster cooks outside under cover, and the food is served in the marquee or barn. Whether it’s blessings and renewals and farm weddings, we will put together a menu of salads, crackling and spit-roast lamb for your guests.
For a smaller place like Mill Hill, a garden or farm wedding is frequently the dream. We need a level spot and access. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
Working with your venue
For events on land you don’t own, such as a park or field, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.
Booking for a club or group? One clear contact makes everything easier, particularly when timings shift.
Should I cook it myself?
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.
Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in Mill Hill
Can you roast near the sea around Mill Hill?
Yes, of course. We roast under cover and choose a sheltered spot where we can.
How far is Mill Hill from London?
About 67 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.
Is crockery included?
We bring plates as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we’ll add it to the quote.
Do venues allow outside hog roasts?
It depends on the venue. Ask your venue early, and we will liaise with them.
How soon do you get booked up?
Summer Saturdays and December book up first. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Ask and we’ll check.
What should we sort out beforehand?
The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We bring everything else.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll fit around changes.
Can you do gluten-free?
Ask for gluten-free rolls and we’ll bring them. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.
Step by step
When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, worked back from your serving time. Golden-hour photos in Mill Hill at midsummer come around 9:15pm, so we can time the carving before or after your sunset photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:45pm, and in late September about 7:00pm.
- Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.

What a hog roast costs
The biggest factors are:
- Whether you want china
- The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
- The serving time and how long we’re on site
- Season and day of the week
What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
