A hog roast or other catering?
Next to a cold buffet, hot rolls carved to order go down much better. For larger numbers, a hog roast is typically good value, because one whole roast feeds plenty of people. Extras, china and longer service add to it.

Town Row: your questions answered
Which station is closest to Town Row?
The closest is Crowborough station, roughly 2 miles away.
Is Town Row too small for a hog roast?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
Is mains power needed?
Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we will fit around changes.
What happens in bad weather?
The roaster is under cover, so a shower doesn’t stop us. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.
Do you serve the food?
Our chef carves and our staff serve, then clear the serving area afterwards.
What’s included?
Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.
How far ahead should we book?
Popular dates go early. But do ask even at short notice: send us your details through our quote form.
How it works
Service is quick once we start carving: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. In Town Row, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so evening food is often carved in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.
