BBQ catering in Holloway

BBQ catering for your event in Holloway

From a small family gathering to a big club day, a catered barbecue scales to the occasion. Give us an idea of numbers and we’ll suggest a menu. For evening wedding food and summer staff days, we will put together a menu of halloumi skewers, beef brisket and beef burgers.

A barbecue in the countryside near Holloway makes a lovely summer party. Plan shelter in case it rains, and think about lighting if it runs late. We bring plates as standard, with china available if you’d like it, at an extra cost.

Common questions in Holloway

Is Holloway close to London?

Roughly 30 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Which station is closest to Holloway?

Furze Platt station, about 2.7 miles north-east of the centre.

Is BBQ catering only for summer?

The grill cooks under cover, so it works all year. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.

When should we book?

As early as you can for summer weekends and December. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Ask and we will check.

Do you cater for vegetarians?

Yes: halloumi and vegetable skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage for vegans. Let us know how many to expect.

Can you cater in Holloway?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Holloway and Windsor and Maidenhead. Send us the address for a quote.

Is clearing up included?

We bring plates and clear up after service.

Do we have to eat from rolls?

Yes. A barbecue works as a plated meal with sides; ask about china if you’d like it.

Planning for dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Think about who does not eat pork or beef so the menu has enough choice
  • Let us know roughly how many children are coming
  • Check which rolls and sauces contain gluten
  • Request gluten-free rolls

Slow-cooked meats such as pulled pork and brisket are ready to serve from the start, which takes the pressure off the grill.

A hog roast and a barbecue together cover every taste.

Space, access and the venue

Most gardens, yards, car parks and fields can take a barbecue with a little planning. A quick checklist:

  • A spot where smoke won’t blow into the house or marquee
  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • A spot well clear of buildings

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Prices and what affects them

There’s no fixed price list, because every event is different. What matters most:

  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Season and day of the week
  • Plates or china
  • Numbers

When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

What we need to know

Here’s what we will ask:

  • Where the event is
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • Roughly how many people

Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so you can compare caterers fairly. Fill in our quote form.

Why a catered barbecue beats doing it yourself

Compared with a hog roast, a barbecue gives more choice, which helps when some guests do not eat pork. A hog roast feeds everyone at once and makes a centrepiece, so some events have both. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. There is no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.

What you get with us

  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option
  • Our chef at the grill, not you
  • Barbecue and hog roast together for big events
  • Six meats to choose from

Step by step

We start by setting up the barbecue and a serving table where we agreed. Then it is a case of cooking and serving through the time you’ve chosen. For an evening barbecue in Holloway, think about light: it’s light until about 9:25pm in June but only about 7:05pm in late September. After dark, the serving table needs lighting.

  1. Start with the date, the venue and roughly how many.
  2. We check the cooking spot and quote.
  3. We set up under cover before service.
  4. At food time, we cook and serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Include children in your numbers
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
