  • Any venue rules
  • Allergies we should know about

  • Roughly how many people

Send us the date, the address or CT4 postcode and rough numbers, plus when you’d like to eat. We’ll confirm availability and send a price. Send us your details through our quote form.

BBQ catering in Shottenden, cooked on site

The point of a catered barbecue is that you get to enjoy it. Our chef cooks, our staff serve and we tidy up afterwards, so your time goes on your guests, not the food. We are frequently asked to cater sports clubs and team events and relaxed weddings and evening receptions, serving halloumi skewers, pulled pork and coleslaw.

In a small place like Shottenden, a barbecue in a garden, a paddock or the village green with permission is frequently the plan. Tell us about lanes and ground, and we will handle the rest. All the barbecue, none of the effort: we shop, cook, serve and clear.

Step by step

On the day, we position the grill under cover and get it up to heat. From there, we cook as your guests come up, timed to when you want to eat. A summer barbecue in Shottenden stays light until about 9:15pm at midsummer, so an evening barbecue can run late in daylight. In late September, it is dark by about 7:00pm.

  1. Send a picture of where the barbecue could go.
  2. We confirm it works and send a quote.
  3. We grill outdoors at your event.
  4. Our team serves hot food through the agreed time.
  5. We leave the spot tidy.

Planning the cooking spot

Most outdoor spaces can work if a few things are right. Here’s what we look for:

  • Space for our vehicle nearby
  • A step-free route to wheel the equipment in
  • Somewhere dry for guests to eat if it rains

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

For event organisers in Shottenden

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We’ll keep everyone in the loop.

If the event is on someone else’s land, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

Why a catered barbecue beats doing it yourself

Compared with a hog roast, a barbecue gives more choice, which helps when some guests don’t eat pork. A hog roast feeds everyone at once and makes a centrepiece, so some events have both. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why book with us

  • A choice of salads and potatoes
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • A full barbecue menu
  • Meat-free choices on every menu

See our prices page or our barbecue menu ideas.

Allergies and dietary needs

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To help:

  • Let us know roughly how many children are coming
  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food
  • Ask about allergens in glazes and sauces
  • Plan separately for anyone who needs halal food

The barbecue goes where we agreed, so the event carries on around us.

Pulled pork and brisket make the menu feel more substantial.

Shottenden questions

Is Shottenden too small for a barbecue?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Do you cater at venues in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Is the barbecue cooked on site?

Yes, on site, outdoors and under cover, and our staff serve and clear.

What’s on your BBQ menu?

Beef burgers, sausages, chicken skewers, BBQ ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket, with halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan burger or sausage. Add salads, coleslaw and potatoes.

How many meats should we choose?

You do not need everything. Mix quick-grilled items with pulled pork or brisket and we will advise on the rest.

Do you leave the area tidy?

We clear the serving area and pack away, and leave the area tidy.

Can you label vegetarian and vegan food?

We give you allergen information for every dish, and we’ll label the meat-free choices clearly.

Is BBQ catering only for summer?

The grill cooks under cover, so it works all year. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.

About the food

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Our vegetarian option is halloumi and vegetable skewers: squeaky, salty cheese with colourful veg.

Beef brisket

Brisket is a favourite with people who like their beef, in a roll or with sides.
