Film set catering for Felbridge

The menu, dish by dish

Rotisserie chicken

Chicken from the rotisserie gives people a non-pork choice, turned until the skin is golden.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Not everyone eats meat, so halloumi and vegetable skewers ensure they’re not left with just salad.

How our film set catering works in Felbridge

Whatever the production, we fit around the call sheet. We serve halloumi skewers, rotisserie chicken and new potatoes, and we’re regularly asked to cater unit base lunches and end-of-shoot wraps.

Near Felbridge, check tracks and ground with locations before the day. The carving happens right in front of your crew, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.

About 25 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

What’s the nearest station to Felbridge?

The closest is East Grinstead station, roughly 1.6 miles away.

Do you need power or water?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.

What’s the price?

Each event is priced on its own, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Ask us for a quote.

Do you offer gluten-free rolls?

We can provide gluten-free rolls if you ask. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.

Do you leave the area tidy?

We clear the serving area and pack away, leaving the spot as we found it.

What’s included?

Roast pork carved into soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. You can add lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options, salads, coleslaw and potatoes.

How soon do you get booked up?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But it is always worth asking: use our quote form.

What happens on the day

Carving is part of the show: the hog is carved in front of your crew, and the crackling is shared out so everyone gets some. At midsummer, daylight in Felbridge lasts until about 9:20pm, which suits an evening wrap at base.

  1. The production office sends us the location, dates, numbers and lunch time.
  2. We check access to base and quote.
  3. We agree where we set up and when we arrive.
  4. When lunch is called, we carve and serve quickly.
  5. Afterwards we clear our spot at base.

Space, access and the venue

The cooking area is the main thing to plan. Check these:

  • A route for our vehicle
  • Clearance from trucks, kit and trees
  • A named contact at base

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you’re a venue or event planner, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so check before you book. We’ll liaise with them on access and set-up.

Prices and what affects them

We work out each quote from:

  • How long the roast and service take
  • Crockery choices
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • The journey to the venue

Numbers make the biggest difference: the price per head usually falls as numbers rise, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • An estimate of numbers
  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Your date and serving time

The quickest way to get a price is to tell us the date, where the shoot is and roughly how many. A photo of the cooking area helps. Send us your details through our quote form.
