Choosing a hog roast caterer

What affects the price in White City

A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

  • Crockery choices
  • Site access
  • Time on site
  • Menu choices and extras

Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.

What to tell us

To get the best quote, send us:

  • A photo of the cooking area
  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • Rough numbers
  • Where the event is

We price every booking individually, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Ask us for a quote for your shoot: send us your details through our quote form.

Diets, allergies and alternatives

You will get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Halal is not offered
  • Tell us who doesn’t eat pork
  • Collect crew dietary needs from the call sheet

We serve quickly on the call.

Wrap parties can run into the evening, tell us about lighting at base.

A hog roast or other catering?

For a wrap party, a hog roast feels like a reward. For larger numbers, a hog roast is generally good value, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

Why book with us

  • An itemised quote
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • Carved by our chef in front of your crew

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a club or group? One clear contact makes everything easier, particularly when timings shift.

Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so it’s worth asking first. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.

What comes off the roaster

Crackling

Good crackling needs time and heat, which is exactly what a slow hog roast gives it.

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Add salads, coleslaw and potatoes to make it a proper meal.

Is there a non-pork option?

We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. Halal meat is not something we offer.

Each event is priced on its own, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Ask us for a quote.

Do you go to remote locations?

Share the route to base and we’ll confirm.

How the day works

Slow roasting is the whole point: the meat cooks gently until it is tender while the skin turns into crackling. It rests for a short while before carving. In December, daylight in White City ends around 3:55pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. The production office sends us the location, dates, numbers and lunch time.
  2. We check the route and send a price.
  3. Our position and arrival are agreed in advance.
  4. We roast through the morning and carve fast when lunch is called.
  5. We pack up and leave the base tidy.

Preparing for the day
