What a hog roast costs

The price comes down to:

  • The date and time of year
  • The number of people
  • Access to the cooking area
  • How long the roast and service take

Compare like for like: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. The cheapest quote isn’t always the best value.

Details that help

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Please include:

  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • The address or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • Any dietary needs or allergies

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many people, plus when you’d like to eat. We’ll confirm availability and send a price. Send us your details through our quote form.

For event organisers in Wittensford

Event organisers often ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Let us know what your event requires and we will tell you what we can send.

If the event is on someone else’s land, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

A hog roast or other catering?

A hog roast can be a special day alongside regular catering, for a wrap or a milestone. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. We quote every event individually, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • An itemised quote
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • Our staff serve and clear

Read our prices page or the cost guide.

How the day works

Service is quick once we start carving: the chef carves and the team serves, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. Early starts matter for a hog roast at base, and in December Wittensford is dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. You send the location, date and lunch call.
  2. We check the route and send a price.
  3. Our position and arrival are agreed in advance.
  4. We carve to order the moment lunch is called.
  5. Afterwards we clear our spot at base.

Before we arrive

  • Think about shelter for your crew
  • Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage
