Hog roast for events for Whitesmith
Hog roast for events near Whitesmith
Shows and festivals last all day, and we serve through the agreed hours. For community events and car and steam shows, we will put together a menu of hog roast rolls, a vegan burger or sausage and crackling and more.
At a field event near Whitesmith, power and water may be limited; we cook on gas, so we don’t need mains power. We bring the roaster, the cover and everything we need to cook and serve, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

Looking after everyone
A little planning helps everyone eat safely. Here are a few tips:
- Gluten-free rolls can be brought on request
- Share the event’s food safety requirements with us
- Check other traders aren’t all selling pork
- Halal isn’t offered
Give us a contact on the day.
The vegan option is popular at festivals.
Planners, venues and businesses
For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.
Marquee suppliers normally set distances for cooking equipment, so tell them a hog roast is coming. We’ll keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.
Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet
Next to a barbecue stall, carving is faster than grilling to order. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we’re on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.
Why Whitesmith hosts choose us
- Cooked on the day, low and slow
- Served at the time you choose
- Staff to serve, so you don’t have to
- A clear quote with everything listed
Read our pricing and the cost guide.
What a hog roast costs
Every booking is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:
- The serving time and how long we’re on site
- Distance from us
- How easy it is to reach the spot
- The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, plus travel and access. There is no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.
What to tell us
To check the date and the space, tell us:
- Allergies we should know about
- The address or postcode
- Anything the venue has asked for
- An estimate of numbers
For a quote, send us a few details: your date, your venue or postcode, how many people and any menu choices. Send us your details through our quote form.
Step by step
Here’s how the day usually runs: we arrive, set up under cover and start roasting, the roast cooks gently through the day, and we carve and serve at the agreed time. Summer events in Whitesmith have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- Organisers send us the date, site, numbers and how food will be paid for.
- You get a check on the date and pitch, and a quote.
- We set up early so the roast is ready when visitors arrive.
- We serve to order through the event.
- We pack down, take our waste and leave the pitch clean.
Before we arrive
- Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
- Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
- Give us final numbers a week or so before

Planning help
Should I cook it myself?
A barbecue is the other obvious choice, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. With a hog roast, one roast feeds everyone at once.
DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.
