Hog roast hire for your event in Cheapside

Hog roast hire takes the cooking off your hands. We get there early, put up the cover and roast for hours, ready to carve when you are. Popular choices include rotisserie chicken, spit-roast lamb and salads, and typical bookings are for sports clubs and societies and christmas fairs.

Somewhere as small as Cheapside, a field, yard or garden is often the spot. Country lanes and long drives are fine if we know about them, and level, firm ground is the key. The hog is roasted on site at your event, low and slow, for hours, and carved only when you are ready to eat.

FAQs for Cheapside

Do you come out to small places like Cheapside?

No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

We are gathering after a service at Church of St Michael and All Angels: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Tell us where you’ll gather.

Can you work around our timings?

Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we will fit around changes.

Can we choose catered or DIY?

Either: fully catered, where we roast, carve and serve, or DIY machine hire. Catering is the most popular choice.

When do you start roasting?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it’s several hours. You will know our arrival time in advance.

How much room do you need?

A flat, open spot outside, plus a step-free route to wheel the equipment in. Send us a photo if you’re unsure.

What happens after service?

We pack everything away after service, and we take our equipment with us.

Do you travel across Windsor and Maidenhead?

Windsor and Maidenhead is part of our area. Ask for a quote.

How it works

Expect a calm, organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and get on with roasting and serving. Because the roast takes hours, daylight is worth planning: around Cheapside, it stays light until about 9:25pm at midsummer, while in December the light goes at about 3:55pm.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We check the date and the cooking spot, then send a quote.
  3. Timings and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we roast for hours, then carve to order.
  5. Our staff serve and clear, then we pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about tight access
  • Choose someone to meet us on arrival
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking

A hog roast or other catering?

Compared with a plated meal, a hog roast does not need a kitchen, which frequently makes it better value. Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why book our hog roast in Cheapside

  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • All the equipment comes with us
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside

Catered or do it yourself?

Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

Bringing a hog roast to Cheapside

Cheapside is about 4 miles south of Windsor, in Windsor and Maidenhead. Wherever your event is in Cheapside, we can bring the roaster, as long as there’s an outdoor spot to cook. For guests coming by train, the closest railway station is Ascot station, roughly 1.6 miles south-west of the centre. Churches such as Church of St Michael and All Angels rarely have room for a roaster, but a hall or home close by generally does.

We bring hog roasts to events all over SL5 and the streets around it. Whether your event is on Water Splash Lane, Dorian Drive and Cheapside Road or a nearby road, we can set up and roast there. What we serve, dish by dish

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Soft rolls hold the pork, stuffing and apple sauce together, easy to eat standing up. Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Spit-roast lamb

With lamb as well, there are two roasts to choose from, which works well for larger groups.

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a club or group? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.

For events on land you do not own, such as a park or field, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

Space, access and the venue

Before the day, it helps to think about where the roaster will go. The ideal spot has:

  • Somewhere nearby to park our vehicle
  • The venue’s agreement to a gas-fired roaster
  • Access for our equipment, without steps

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.
