Hog roast hire for Clement Street

About our hog roast hire in Clement Street

Our hog roast hire is fully catered: we roast, our chef carves and our staff serve. If you’d rather do it yourself, we also hire out the machine. We’re often asked to cater garden parties and barbecues and weddings and receptions, with salads, new potatoes and hog roast rolls.

Somewhere as small as Clement Street, a field, yard or garden is often the spot. Country lanes and long drives are fine if we know about them, and level, firm ground is the key. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

The process

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so we don’t need mains power to cook, though a socket nearby is handy for lighting. In Clement Street, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer evening hog roast is normally carved in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:50pm, we need light by the roaster and the serving table.

  1. You share the when, where and how many.
  2. We look at the cooking area and send a price.
  3. We get the roaster going hours before you eat.
  4. The chef carves and the team fills rolls or plates.
  5. We clear up and go.

Preparing for the day

  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage
  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster

Next to a buffet, hot roast pork carved in front of you is a different experience. A buffet can sit out all afternoon. When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Why us?

  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Serving and clearing done for you

Space, access and the venue

A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:

  • Nothing overhead that could catch the heat
  • A marquee, hall or barn as a wet-weather plan
  • A level, open spot outdoors for the roaster

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

The menu, dish by dish

Stuffing and apple sauce

Sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce are the classic partners, balancing the rich, salty pork.

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Crunchy coleslaw suits roast pork, while salads and potatoes make a plated meal.

Catered or do it yourself?

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you.

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.

Allergies and dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs early and we’ll help. Tips:

  • Ask about allergies when you send invitations
  • Remember that stuffing generally contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
  • Count anyone who doesn’t eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
  • Put the menu on the invitation

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, and our staff clear the serving area afterwards.

Prefer to cook yourself? Ask about DIY machine hire.

FAQs for Clement Street

Can you do a hog roast in Dartford Heath?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first.

Is Clement Street too small for a hog roast?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

What about guests who don’t eat pork?

The menu has lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. We don’t provide halal meat.

Do you serve the crackling?

Of course: slow roasting crisps the skin and we break it up for everyone.

Do you need power or water?

The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.

Can we have lamb or chicken?

The hog is the centrepiece, with lamb and chicken as extras.

When should we book?

Popular dates go early. But do ask even at short notice: use our quote form.

What if things run late?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and we can hold the roast for a while if the day runs behind.

For planners, venues and organisers

For workplace bookings, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We’ll fit in with site rules.

Planning on behalf of a committee? One clear contact makes everything easier, especially on the day.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
