- Tell guests what’s on the menu in advance
The roaster needs looking after for hours, and that is what we’re there for. You can get on with your event.
We also hire out the roaster for DIY hog roasts.

What happens on the day
We arrive hours before you want to eat, because a whole hog takes hours to roast. The smell normally brings people over long before we carve. Evenings in Great Western Park stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; after dark, the serving area and the path to it need good lighting.

Should I cook it myself?
Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.
You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.
