Hog roast hire for your event in Hamsey Green
There is nothing quite like the smell of a hog roast drifting across a garden or field. We cook at your venue in Hamsey Green, low and slow, then carve the pork into rolls with all the trimmings. We serve new potatoes, crackling and hog roast rolls, and we are regularly asked to cater parties at home and christmas fairs.
Somewhere like Hamsey Green, a yard or firm field often works. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
Why choose hog roast hire in Hamsey Green?
A hog roast is memorable. It’s food and a bit of theatre at the same time.
A hog roast suits a wide range of occasions. Here are some of the most popular:
- Milestone birthdays
- Weddings and receptions
- Summer garden parties
- Christmas fairs
Thinking of a hog roast in Blanchman's Farm? Cooking in a park needs the owner’s permission, normally the council’s, and many parks don’t allow it.
What your quote should include
- Plates, china and cutlery
- When they arrive and when the food will be ready
- Where the roaster goes and what it needs
- Travel and any London charges
Full catering or machine hire?
If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.

Questions from Hamsey Green
Is Hamsey Green close to London?
Roughly 13 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
What’s the nearest station to Hamsey Green?
The closest is Upper Warlingham station, roughly 1 mile away.
Is our garden big enough?
Often, yes, if there is a level, open spot away from the house and trees, as long as we can get the equipment in. A picture helps us check.
What do you need from us on the day?
Only the space and a contact number. Everything for roasting and serving comes with us.
Is hog roast hire catered or DIY?
Both are available: fully catered, where we roast, carve and serve, or DIY machine hire. Most people choose catering.
Can you roast in the rain?
We roast under cover, so the food isn’t affected. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.
What comes with the hog roast?
Roast pork carved into soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Extras include lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers, a vegan option, salads and potatoes.
What happens when we hire a hog roast?
We handle the roasting, carving and serving. Just give us an outdoor spot to cook.
What comes off the roaster
Crackling
Good crackling needs time and heat, which is exactly what a slow hog roast gives it.
Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
Vegan guests can have a vegan burger or sausage, so nobody misses out.
Looking after everyone
Rolls and stuffing usually contain gluten, and gluten-free rolls are available on request. Other tips:
- Ask about allergies when you send invitations
- We do not offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it is needed
- Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them
- Count anyone who does not eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, then clear up.
We also hire out the roaster for DIY hog roasts.
How the day works
Slow roasting is the whole point: the meat cooks gently until it’s tender while the skin turns into crackling. Then it rests briefly before our chef carves. By late September, sunset in Hamsey Green is around 7:05pm, and in December it’s nearer 3:55pm. For anything after that, plan lights for the serving area.
- You tell us the date, the address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
- We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
- On the day, we set up on the agreed spot and start roasting.
- We carve and serve when you are ready to eat.
- Afterwards we clear up and leave the spot tidy.
Preparing for the day
- Have a covered area for eating in case of rain
- Have a level outdoor spot ready
- Plan a step-free way in for the equipment
