Hog roast hire in Horsham, carved to order

Our hog roast hire is fully catered: we roast, our chef carves and our staff serve. If you’d rather do it yourself, we also hire out the machine. Whether it is corporate events and village fêtes and school fairs, we’ll put together a menu of crackling, halloumi skewers and new potatoes for your guests.

For a central Horsham booking, parking for our vehicle and the route to the cooking spot are what to plan; once set up, the roast looks after itself for hours. The hog is roasted on site at your event, slowly, over several hours, then carved fresh for your guests.

Horsham questions

Could you cook in Warnham Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Ask them first.

Can you cater after a service at Hope Chapel?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is typically elsewhere. Tell us where you’ll gather.

Is all of West Sussex covered?

We cater across West Sussex, including Horsham. Ask for a quote.

What if it rains?

We roast under cover, so the food is not affected. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, at a safe distance from walls and tents. We can often serve indoors if the venue agrees.

Do you leave the area tidy?

Our staff clear the serving area, so you are not left with the mess.

Who serves?

We carve and serve for you, and we clear up when service is finished.

Do you do DIY hog roast hire?

Yes, for confident cooks. Ask and we will talk you through it.

What happens on the day

Your timings come first. If the day runs behind, a cooked roast can be kept hot for a while, so keep us posted on the day. Planning an evening hog roast in Horsham? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; after dark, the serving area and the path to it need good lighting.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We check the date and the cooking spot, then send a quote.
  3. Timings and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we roast for hours, then carve to order.
  5. Our staff serve and clear, then we pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about tight access
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking

Planning the cooking spot

The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Things to check:

  • A sheltered place for people to eat if it rains

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before booking.

A hog roast or other catering?

Catered or DIY? Catering means we do everything; DIY hire means you roast and carve yourself. For bigger events, catering is typically the easier choice. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.

Why book with us

  • Served at the time you choose
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Our staff serve and clear

Take a look at our pricing and our hog roast cost guide.

Should I cook it myself?

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.

A barbecue is the other obvious choice, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.

Diets, allergies and alternatives

Some guests won’t eat pork, so it’s worth adding an alternative. A few pointers:

  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Stuffing normally contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
  • Give us numbers for vegetarians and vegans so we bring enough halloumi skewers and vegan burgers or sausages
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, then clear up.

China crockery is available on request, at an extra cost.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
  • Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
