Hog roast hire for Hunton
Should I cook it myself?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.
Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.
Hog roast hire in Hunton, carved to order
Booking a hog roast means you don’t have to cook. We get there early, put up the cover and roast for hours, ready to carve when you are. We are often asked to cater Fêtes, fairs and shows and weddings and receptions, serving salads, crackling and spit-roast lamb.
Somewhere like Hunton, a yard or firm field often works. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you enquire, and we will tell you exactly what’s in each dish before you book.

The menu, dish by dish
Stuffing and apple sauce
A spoonful of apple sauce and a slice of stuffing turn a pork roll into a hog roast roll.
Spit-roast lamb
Adding lamb gives people a choice of two roasts, which works well for larger groups.
Allergies and dietary needs
Tell us about dietary needs early and we will help. Some ideas:
- Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information
- We don’t offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it’s needed
- Count anyone who does not eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
- Collect allergies with your RSVPs
On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, then clear up.
Salads, coleslaw and potatoes make it a full meal, and they’re listed in your quote.
Planning the cooking spot
Planning the cooking spot is the key. A quick checklist:
- A level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- A safe distance from walls, tents and trees
- Somewhere nearby to park our vehicle
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before booking.

Hunton questions
How far is Hunton from London?
About 58 miles from central London.
Can you cater after a service at Church of St James?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Send us the address.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
Outside, always. Serving indoors is typically fine if the venue is happy.
Do you cook it or do we?
We offer full catering and DIY machine hire. We’ll explain what’s included in each when we quote.
Can you cater for vegetarians?
Add lamb, chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan option. Please note we do not offer halal meat.
Do you cover the whole of Hampshire?
All of Hampshire is in our area. Tell us the venue and we’ll quote.
Is crackling included?
Crackling is part of every roll for anyone who wants it.
Do you clear up?
Our staff clear the serving area, so you’re not left with the mess.
A hog roast compared with other options
Compared with a barbecue, one roast feeds everyone at once, instead of food coming off the grill in batches. Our guide compares the two. The main driver is numbers: bigger groups normally cost less per head, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.
What you get with us
- Served at the time you choose
- A clear quote with everything listed
- Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated
- Crackling for everyone who wants it

Organising for someone else?
If you are a venue or event planner, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.
Venues often have rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Ask early, and pass on anything they need from us.
