Hog roast hire in North Finchley

Hog roast hire in North Finchley, slow-roasted on site

In North Finchley, a hog roast is an easy way to feed a lot of people: a single slow roast, carved to order. Everything comes with us, and we serve and tidy up afterwards. Whether it is community events and big birthdays and anniversaries, we’ll put together a menu of rotisserie chicken, coleslaw and halloumi skewers and more.

Around North Finchley, most London bookings are in back gardens, yards, school grounds and car parks. Many terraced houses have no side access, so tell us whether there’s a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use, and a picture helps us check. We bring the roaster, the cover and everything we need to cook and serve, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

For event organisers in North Finchley

If you’re booking for a workplace, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We work to the site’s rules.

For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

Planning the cooking spot

The roaster needs the right spot, because it cooks outside for several hours, so a few things are worth checking:

  • A way to wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • Nothing overhead that could catch the heat

North Finchley is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

How to compare hog roast caterers

Your questions about a hog roast in North Finchley

We’re gathering after a service at St. Barnabas Church: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Tell us where you’ll gather.

Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in North Finchley?

Often, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Can you cook inside a hall or marquee?

The roaster always stays outside, under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. We can often serve indoors if the venue agrees.

Do you cover North Finchley?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, North Finchley and the rest of Greater London included. Send us the address for a quote.

Is there a non-pork option?

The menu has lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. We don’t provide halal meat.

Do we need to provide electricity?

The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.

Can we just hire the roaster?

We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we’ll talk you through it.

Do we need a big space?

Access and clearance matter more than size. Tell us about the garden and we will advise.

Is a hog roast right for your event?

Compared with food vans, a hog roast serves plenty of people from one roast, with no waiting for individual orders to cook. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, plus travel and access. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Why us?

What happens on the day

Here’s how the day generally runs: we arrive, set up under cover and start roasting, the pork cooks slowly for hours, and our chef carves it when you are ready. Evenings in North Finchley stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; after dark, the serving area and the path to it need good lighting.

  1. You tell us the date, the address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
  2. We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up on the agreed spot and start roasting.
  4. We carve and serve when you are ready to eat.
  5. We clear the serving area and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Choose someone to meet us on arrival
  • Make sure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage

Planning for dietary needs

Some guests won’t eat pork, so plan an alternative. Helpful tips:

  • Stuffing normally contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
  • We do not offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it is needed
  • Request gluten-free rolls for coeliac guests
  • Put the menu on the invitation

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, then clear up.

Prefer to cook yourself? Ask about DIY machine hire.

Should I cook it myself?

Catered or DIY? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

How we price a hog roast

A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

  • How long the roast and service take
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • The number of people
  • The journey to the venue

Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so we list each one in the quote. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Dietary requirements
  • Where the event is
  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Rules from the venue or landowner

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so it is easy to compare like for like. Fill in our quote form.
