Hog roast hire in Wells-in-the-Field, carved to order

With hog roast hire, the cooking happens at your event, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp when it’s served. Add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options if you like. For wakes and memorial gatherings and weddings and receptions, we can cook spit-roast lamb, crackling and hog roast rolls for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Wells-in-the-Field, a field, yard or garden is frequently the spot. Country lanes and long drives are fine if we know about them, and firm, level ground matters most. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling.

Planning for dietary needs

Allergies and dietary needs are easy to manage if we know in advance. Some ideas:

  • Label the vegetarian and vegan food clearly
  • Ask about allergies when you send invitations
  • We don’t offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it’s needed
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them

The roaster needs looking after for hours, and that is what we’re there for. You can get on with your event.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Should I cook it myself?

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

What happens on the day

Service is quick once we start carving: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. Because the roast takes hours, daylight is worth planning: in Wells-in-the-Field, sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, but by late December it is dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We check the date and the cooking spot, then send a quote.
  3. Timings and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. We roast slowly on site, then carve for your guests.
  5. Our staff serve and clear, then we pack away.
